Job Summary: The Youth Soccer Coordinator is a Full-Time position of Horizons Edge Sports Campus focusing on the technical development of youth soccer participants. As a member of the Edge soccer staff this position reports to the Manager of Soccer Operations/SVU Club Director.

Essential Job Functions:
Head Coach:
Lead a minimum of one SVU Travel Team in both Fall and Spring Seasons.
Lead Match and Training Sessions for the SVU Challenge Program.
Lead Recreation/Off Season Team Training Sessions/Clinics throughout the year.

Player Education and Evaluation:
Assist with the recruiting, interviewing, selection and evaluating of players within the SVU Challenge and Travel Programs
Monitor SVU Rec. Program coaches and parent volunteers and solicit feedback.

Player Retention:
Responsible for tracking player retention and success including identifying talented players.
Confirm and coordinate tournaments and weekend match game day slates with opposing club directors or tournament directors.

Coordination of New Programs:
Is responsible for working with other soccer staff coordinating and developing new programs and tournaments to increase participation and registrations.
Administer and enforce policies established by Horizons Edge.
Assist with planning and coordinating adult and youth league schedules.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop age-appropriate coaching clinics for the club including conducting skill development clinics and training sessions for players and coaches.
Assist in the development and maintenance of a yearly Recreation and Challenge calendar including scheduling, conducting, and facilitating player promotion to higher programs.
Educate parents on the club's policies and philosophies on youth development and age-appropriate activities through orientations, seminars and written material.
To create a library of books, articles and videos for coaches in the club.
Assist the Club Director to organize and facilitate coaching clinics, including coordinating national license courses for coaches.
Work in conjunction with Club Admin to ensure all Head Coaches have completed appropriate mandated background checks and sexual abuse modules.
Regularly check equipment for maintenance needs
To organize information seminars on various sports science topics (e.g. Nutrition, First-Aid, Psychology, etc.).
To enforce a Code of Conduct for the players and parents.
To assist the club with the technical coaching aspects of a Risk Management Policy.
Ensure programs are current with best practices and maintaining relationships with local and national coaching authorities.
Have direct and consistent (weekly) contact with coaches regarding game day analysis feedback, coach development, training program design, and including at times the delivery of training sessions.
Refinement and implementation of sportsmanship programs.
Attend all required meetings and planning sessions.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a USSF "D" coaching license or United Soccer Coaches "National" Diploma or willing to obtain within a reasonable time.
Youth coaching experience preferred.
Playing experience that demonstrates strong skills and soccer knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to develop coaches and players.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication and management skills
Applicants must be able to work flexible hours including weekend events and be willing to travel as needed.
