Milton Youth Soccer Club (MYSC) is a not-for-profit soccer organization operating within the Town of Milton since 1968 and has become the primary soccer program in Milton.
Located in southern Ontario, the town of Milton its favourable location and rural charm make it one of the fastest growing communities in Ontario. Milton is situated ideally 35 minutes from Vaughan, Etobicoke, Burlington, Hamilton, Waterloo, and Guelph. Only 25 minutes from Oakville and Mississauga. Milton is just minutes off of the Highway 401 Expressway and accessible from Queen Elizabeth Way,Highway 407, and Highway 403 via Bronte Road/Highway 25 North.
MYSC envisions a community that is a leader when it comes to sustainability, diversity, and inclusion. The Club is governed by an operational Board of Governors and is operated by staff and volunteers, committed to providing exceptional year-round Recreational and Competitive programs to all levels of play for youth to young adults.
Milton Youth SC is a forward-thinking organization which develops and delivers sustainable programs on and off the field to develop players through a proven systematic curriculum which is age specific. As a community Club MYSC, has contributed to the development of the game and has developed players who have gone on to play at Canadian Universities, NCAA Soccer Scholarships, Provincial Teams as well as for our Canadian National Youth Teams. We are committed to the technical development of our grassrootsprogram while creating a proven pathway to the elite level for our male and female players.
The Milton Youth SC competitive coach (male/female u13 to u21) is a member of the MYSC Coaching Staff. Milton Youth SC is creating an environment for young elite soccer players in the Peel Halton Region to further develop their skills, knowledge, and desire to open future pathway opportunities in soccer.
Milton Youth SC is seeking individuals, male or female (female role models for our female division is a priority) who subscribe to continual professional development and self‐improvement to reach their full potential as a teacher of the game. Milton SC has a desire to develop coaches who want to be mentored and evaluated on a consistent basis to excel personally!
Youth Coach:Holds a paid position based on experience and licensing within the Milton Youth SC and therefore is expected to support Club initiatives and policies as per their part-time contractual agreement. In addition to coaching the Youth team in the Peel Halton and across the Golden Horseshoe in the IMODEL League of a particular gender within any given age group, the primary accountability for the Head Coach of our competitive teams is to provide the leadership and guidance to develop the person before the player. The Head Coach is also required to do the following:
Technical Responsibilities of the Job:1. Attend all training sessions as well as all games, tournaments, and other team events.a. Travel within Peel Halton and Golden Horseshoe Area for league games is required.2. Attend MYSC coach education workshops and Clinics.3. Support and implement the MYSC Game Model, DNA and Curriculum.4. Schedule Exhibition games.5. Manage Fall Open House Trials and player selections.6. Attend all mandatory meetings set by the Club’s Technical Department, District or Provincial Association.7. Required to provide a standardized annual plan to the Technical Staff (Grassroots/DSO)a. Written goals and seasonal objectives for the competitive team.8. Liaise with the Head Goalkeeper Coach9. Provide assessments of all players twice per year or as necessary per Club Technical Policies.a. Mid‐season end of seasonb. Head Coaches must make themselves available for individual parent meetings following the distribution of these assessments.10. Agree to attract and maintain the minimum number of required players.11. Communicate in a timely manner to respond to requests of the Technical Staff and other MYSC staff.
Qualifications: Experience / Knowledge: Minimum Soccer 4 Life, ‘C’ License preferred with enrollment in the CSA National Youth/’C’ License The MYSC will support coaches and approve any community license they wish to register for, but this must be approved by the Director of Soccer Operations prior to registration. Limited to one coaching education course per calendar year. Clean Vulnerable Sector Police check is a mandatory policy. Valid Driver’s License Skills and Competencies Must hold and submit a valid Canada Soccer coaching license (age appropriate)o (All Online Courses Below are mandatory to pursue a ‘C’ License)o Making Ethical Decisions transcript,o Respect in Soccer certificate,o Making Headway transcript,o Safe Sport,o Emergency Action Plan,o Mental Health in Sports with a signed contracto Coaches working with female players must also complete Keeping Girls in Sporto Rule of Two in sports
Skills Competencies Teaching qualifications and experience in a school system is a benefit. Experience and knowledge in coaching children of all levels Excellent communicator with demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong relationships. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of common technology and computer platforms. Subscribes to continual professional development and self‐improvement. Flexibility to work off‐business hours such as evenings and weekends. Physical capacity to demonstrate and execute regular on‐field and off-field training sessions. Be the primary contact for any player or parent issues for the youth team. Be an active participant in the MYSC coaching staff and contribute to the betterment of the Club coaching standards. Ensure maximum membership satisfaction and player retention.
The Head Coach will be supported by: Director of Soccer Operations and the Director of Grassroots to mentor with intentions of acquiring their CSA National Children’s/Youth/’C’ Licence. Assistant Coach – to be mentored to obtain the necessary experience to be a Head Coach GK Coach – handles weekly GK training. Head Therapist assigned for medical protocols. Team Manager – administrative details and communications to the parents
The Head Coach and Assistant Coach will be supplied with Club coaching attire from the Club Equipment Supplier, and this is mandatory to be worn to all training/games/tournaments etc. Failure to do so will be grounds for discipline or termination
