Job Description Job summary An exciting opportunity has become available to join our WSL Academy for a hard working & enthusiastic Physical Development Coach. The PDC will require strong technical skills and an ability to achieve meaningful and measurable impact upon the physical development of the players, whilst also providing strong contributions to the Multi-Disciplinary Team. Working as a key member of the MDT, the role involves leading the physical development support for the Women’s Academy program, both on and off the pitch, whilst being proactive in ensuring development related KPI’s are documented, tracked, and used as evidence to improve the physical capabilities of the WSL Academy players. Person Specification The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas: – Essential (E) Desirable (D)Education/Qualifications/Experience: *        BSc in Sport Science/Strength & Conditioning or a related discipline (E) *        MSc in Sport Science/Strength & Conditioning or a related discipline (D) *        UKSCA Accreditation or ability to achieve within 6-12 months (D) *        BASES Accreditation or ability to achieve within 6-12 months (D) *        Emergency First Aid (FA EFAIF L2) (D) *        At least 2-3 years previous experience of working with elite development athletes (E) *        Previous experience of working with coaches in designing and delivering training programmes to achieve technical/tactical and physical outcomes. (E) *        Experience of leading people. (D) Abilities/Skills/Knowledge: * Ability to plan and deliver S&C programmes to achieve a genuine performance impact. (E) *        Excellent understanding of growth & maturation and its implications on the development of athletes. (E) *        Ability to flex delivery approach to successfully motivate and engage young people (u9-U16 age players). (E) *        Effective and appropriate communication/relationship building skills. (E) *        Excellent understanding of long-term physical development (practically and theoretically). (E) *        Ability to use strength diagnostics/physical profiling to inform training programmes. (E) *        Detailed understanding of, and ability to use monitoring systems related to physical performance (workload, wellbeing, neuromuscular state etc). (D) *       Understanding of the expectations of a WSL Academy (D)
