ROLE DESCRIPTION

Our Women's Technical Division are looking for a Women's Goalkeeping Talent Coach to join us for an initial 12 month contract.

You will support the delivery of the England Women's Goalkeeping Strategy, by establishing a goalkeeping Talent ID network, which assists in the identification and transition of talented youth goalkeepers into England U15 – U17 Development Teams.

Please note interviews are scheduled to be held on the 27th March at The National Football Centre, St. George's Park.

About the Team

Our FA Technical teams support all aspects of Men's and Women's elite performance – including para football, the elite format of disability football that runs parallel to the mainstream game – so we can help England teams to win tournaments.

Our teams manage everything from identifying talent to the development and coaching of multi-disciplinary teams throughout the age groups, up to our Senior England teams. To deliver on our goal we have invested heavily in developing a team of exceptional people capable of creating winning England teams at our world-class training facilities at our National Football Centre, St. George's Park.

What You'll Be Doing

Ensure a deep understanding of the goalkeeping talent pool aged U14-U17.
Work with the Women's Goalkeeping Pathway Lead, to input into talent management decisions regarding player opportunities and selections for Talent Pathway and National Development Team events (U15-U17).
Work with the Talent Pathway team, and the Future Lionesses Goalkeeping Centre workforce, to establish a national network for goalkeeping specific talent identification and development.
Conduct an analysis of goalkeeping talent and goalkeeping coaching provision across Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) and Professional Game Academy (PGA) playing environments.
Support talent development environments to develop an age specific goalkeeping curriculum that supports the identification, selection, and development of talented youth goalkeepers.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver positive action initiatives to target hard to reach playing pools and diversify the demographic of goalkeeping talent referrals.
Lead the planning, delivery, and review of the overall goalkeeping technical and tactical programming on regional and national Talent Pathway events and activity, ensuring alignment with National Development Teams.
Develop outstanding club relationships to support the transition of talented goalkeepers through the Talent Pathway and into National Development Teams, ensuring information and knowledge is transferred as required.
Act as goalkeeping coach for England National Pathway teams as required.
Liaise with the FA Safeguarding Team to ensure that the wellbeing and welfare of participants is considered in all activity, referring any concerns in line with FA Safeguarding policy and procedures.
Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

What Will You Need?

Essential for the role:

Knowledge
• UEFA B Licence
• UEFA B Goalkeeping Licence

Experience
•    High level people skills and experience.
•    Ability to demonstrate inspirational leadership on and off the pitch using a variety of methods.
•    Experience of developing and sustaining a culture of safe working, high performance and respectful behaviour.
•    Demonstrate an understanding of international football, talent systems and talent identification.
•    Significant experience of working with youth goalkeepers with a track record of high performance.
•    Deep knowledge of Technical, Tactical, Physical, Psychological & social components of the game.
•    Ability to develop & create a player development plan.

   Growth mindset & evidence of continuous professional development.
•    Knowledge & understanding of the England GK DNA.
•    Knowledge and experience of safeguarding children and adults, risk legislation and implementing policy and processes to maintain safer working cultures.

Technical Skills
•    Extensive experience of Excel, Word & PowerPoint
•    Advanced reporting writing skills
•    Advanced Microsoft Office
•    Ability to create presentations and present to a wide range of players, MDT staff & key stakeholders.

Beneficial to have:

•    Teaching Qualification and/or background

Experience
•    Experience of coaching in the women's game.
•    Experience of working within the Women's Professional Game (PGA/ETC) and/or the England Women's Talent Pathway.
•    Experience of International football

Technical Skills
•    Experience of working with Sportscode
•    Experience of working with Hudl
