Ipswich Town Football Club is looking for a Women’s First Team Sports Therapist to join the Performance Team
to lead the day-to-day delivery of high-level injury prevention, injury rehabilitation and pitch side first
aid/emergency care.
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Attend all training sessions and competition matches played by the Women’s First Team throughout the
Season and Pre-Season, as well as providing or arranging equivalent services to Players during the off
season to ensure continuity of treatment.
• Identify the infrastructure required to ensure that processes are properly defined, supported,
documented, and reviewed.
• Working in collaboration with the Women’s Head of Performance, participate in the club's injury
prevention initiatives and actively explore innovative ideas
• Provide injury reports and updates to the Women’s Team Senior leadership group.
• Responsible for delivering assessments and diagnostics to ensure relevant treatment plans are created
for individual players.
• Provide players with soft tissue therapy to reduce compressive stress and speed up the healing process
• Ensure medical equipment is maintained to high standard
Who are you?
• You will have a degree in Sports Therapy.
• You will have current membership with The Society of Sports Therapists (SSP) as well as an ATMMiF
(Level 5) qualification.
• You will have the appropriate level of medical indemnity insurance.
• Be committed to CPD to identify new opportunities, refresh existing knowledge, improve skills, and
keep up to date with the latest developments.
• You will be able to work collaboratively with a wider structured performance team and utilise the
expertise of others.
• Ideally, you will have experience of working in women’s football/elite sport
• It is essential that you can work flexibly, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• You will be comfortable in a busy, fast paced environment.
• Have the relevant up to date safeguarding certificates.
• Be a strong communicator with a high level of empathy who can demonstrate resilience, with the ability
to remain calm under pressure.
• You will be outgoing, enthusiastic, and passionate about your work.
