Role description
As part of the Lexington Sporting Club’s strategy, there is a clear commitment in resources and support to provide the best possible chance for success for our Women’s First Team. LSC is looking to appoint a Head Coach who can enable us to build a sustainable and successful women’s program and one that will get results. This would be the catalyst to step change growth across the entire female game in Lexington and would in turn increase participation numbers, fan support, media coverage, and drive commercial revenue.
The Head Coach will play a key supporting role to build a team based around LSC’s defined player development model, methodology and playing philosophy.
The Women’s Head Coach is responsible for the overall administration of the Women’s professional soccer program. Directs all aspects of the 2024 Lexington Sporting Club’s Women’s Soccer program to include teaching effective strategy, technique, training, and game execution of players. The head coach is responsible for ensuring the program is compliant with USL Super League rules and standards.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coaching
Oversee and run the first team within the Lexington Sporting Club professional structure.
Plan, organize and deliver to professional standard the training and competition program of the Women’s First Team.
Responsible for planning and conducting pre-season, in-season, non-traditional and post-season team/individual practices, and competitions.
Responsible for working alongside the Women’s Sporting Director in recruiting the highest quality of women’s soccer players globally to the club.
Develop and maintain a positive learning environment to maximize each players learning potential.
Ensure all training sessions are delivered with a compliant approach to Health and Safety.
Link all individual and team learning objectives to the Lexington Sporting Club philosophy.
Effectively communicate with players by email, phone, and social media as compliant with league rules.
Oversee overall management of the program. Establish and arrange practice and competition schedules.
Set and agree with the Women’s Sporting Director key objectives and targets that help measure job performance and contribute to achieving the LSC’s Strategic objectives.
Establish structures to monitor performances and oversee development of professional team players and technical staff.
Work collaboratively with the women’s pre-pro team, technical directors, and youth team coaches to implement the teams’ objectives, technical syllabus within the “Lexington Sporting Club Way” curriculum framework.
Support the continuous professional development of the women’s player development team through sharing Women’s First Team Best Practice.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clubs.
Project a professional and positive image of LSC soccer through media and press opportunities in relation to the Women’s First Team and in support of LSC soccer’s ongoing activities and events.
Support the engagement of any commercial contracts and/or communication initiatives that may be asked of any squad player or technical staff member.
Attend and support any youth team matches and visit LSC youth camps where possible.
Support local and national promotional activities which may include club, school, and national festival events throughout the US.
Support fan engagement activities as required and represent LSC at key events and projects involving key stakeholders.
Adhere to assigned program budget.
Responsible for administering and working within the parameters of operating, recruiting, and assistant coach budgets.
Follow all LSC and Super League rules and standards which pertain to the women’s first team soccer program.
Work alongside and supports the Dr’s and head athletic trainer to ensure that athletes receive quality care, prevention, and treatment of injuries.
Represent LSC at all the Super League meetings/zooms/calls to gain up-to-date information and ensure appropriate departmental communication, planning, and good practice.
Attend all Lexington Sporting Club meetings/zooms/calls to ensure appropriate departmental communication, planning, and updates when required.
Function daily as an integral part of LSC within the sporting department and shares the vision for the future of the club as outlined by the Women’s Sporting Director and ownership group.
General
Attend all required meetings with ownership and the management and leadership team when required.
Carry out any other reasonable duties that may arise or be assigned by the Women’s Sporting Director and/or senior management staff.
To be able to work flexible and unsociable hours where the role of the job requires.
Comply with all LSC club policies.
Promote the LSC brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner.
Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organization as and when required to promote best practice.

Preferred Qualifications
USSF A / UEFA B or C.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred but not required.
Preferred Knowledge/Experience & Skills
Experience of playing professional soccer preferred.
Professional Coaching Background preferred.
Prior experience working in at a national level environment, a professional environment, soccer academy, collegiate, or elite youth club preferred. Minimum of three years coaching in senior soccer preferred.
A proven track record of club and/or international management success.
Experience of training and mentoring elite coaches is desirable.
Development focused with experience of nurturing and promoting young players.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of recruiting globally.
Extensive knowledge about youth soccer in the United States.
A proven track record in delivering success within limited resources.
Highly skilled communicator with the ability to utilize technology effectively.
Effective organizational skills for managing multiple tasks.
A positive attitude towards professional development and learning.
A sound understanding of safeguarding and welfare requirements.
Ability to relocate to Lexington, KY.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other operating platforms.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Confidence in presenting plans and projections to senior management/ownership.
