ROLE DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Womens First Team Head Coach

Place of Work : Foundation Park, Tannadice Park, RPC, Baldragon Academy, Wallace High and at St. Andrews University

Status : Part-Time.

Hours of Work : The role typically involves approximately 15 hours per week. Training sessions are held in the evenings with matchdays on a Sunday.

Reporting to : Academy Director & Head of Football Operations.

Key Relationships : Players, Internal Club stakeholders & External stakeholders

Salary : TBD

Start Date : February 2024

PURPOSE:

Dundee United Football Club are inviting applications for the position of Women’s Team Head Coach. This is a key role within the footballing structure, responsible for leading, planning, coaching and the organisation of the First Team of Dundee United Football Club Women; whilst playing in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

The role is a coaching and managerial role, where strong leadership, effective communication and proficient administration skills are vital. The post holder will be working closely with both the Football and Non-Football staff within the Club across a variety of departments.

You will be the main point of contact for communications relating to the football matters of Dundee United Football Club Women’s First Team and will be responsible for communicating this information effectively and in a timely manner to all relevant stakeholders within the Club.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

The post holder will have the responsibility for managing the team, as well as planning, developing, and implementing the regular weekly training sessions.
Ensuring to make use of the additional resources made available through the DUFC Academy programme, in order to guarantee a consistent game and training model is operated in line with the overall Club philosophy.
Ensure logistical arrangements around matchdays, and training sessions are fully met, including effectively communicating these arrangements with the team.
Focus on the development of the team and individuals to clearly demonstrate improvement in line with the Club’s Strategy and Philosophy
To ensure a high level of discipline across the squad
To be punctual and well organised in planning training sessions and match organisation.
To attend club social events, supporter meetings as and when required
To maintain a professional standard in relation to media interaction, at all times, in line with the Club’s media and social media policies.
To work closely and communicate regularly with the Club’s Head of Football Operations and Academy Director in relation to all matters pertaining to the Dundee United FC Women’s First Team.
To further integrate the team into the Club’s football structure and overall culture.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL:

ESSENTIAL:

Holder of a UEFA A Coaching award or currently enrolled on this qualification.
Excellent motivational team-working and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with people at all levels.
Detail orientated with a well-organised approach to managing the team.
A commitment to setting the highest standards in terms of behaviour, application, and performance.

DESIRABLE:

Experience of working with high level female players and/or talented female footballers.
To demonstrate experience and a verifiable record of managing at a similar level
Ability to prioritise work and to work well under pressure.
Ability to innovate and identify opportunities for coach education and development.
