Role description

Reporting to the Women's 1st Team Head Coach​, the successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivering Goalkeeper sessions for 1st Team and U21’s, developing and delivering the Goalkeeper coaching programme to the highest standard, and demonstrating and upholding the values, ethos and standards of Reading Women Football Club. This role is 25 hours per week

​KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

To support building a successful winning 1st Team squad who can compete in the Women’s Championship and challenge to compete in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
To be responsible for the development of long-term strategies to ensure the successful recruitment and development of elite goalkeepers for all of our squads.
To develop and implement Club philosophies regarding tactical and technical information, ensuring these are delivered and reinforced through effective coaching.
To prepare all 1st Team and U21 goalkeepers for all training sessions and matches.
To analyse, monitor and report on the performance and progress of 1st Team and U21 goalkeepers, evaluating against established and agreed goals.
To foster a positive environment for learning and development within the goalkeeping team.
To demonstrate and uphold the values, ethos, and standards of Reading Women’s Football Club.
To work closely with the 1st Team Manager and coaching staff to ensure the continuous development of all goalkeepers registered with the Club.
To work closely with the Pathway Manager, U21 head coaches and coaching staff to ensure the continuous development of all goalkeepers registered with the academy.
To supervise and assist in the delivery of coaching sessions to players throughout the 1st Team and U21 and be present at their coaching sessions as advised by the 1st Team Manager.
To report to the 1st Team Manager/Pathway Manager on the development and progression of all goalkeepers registered with the Club.
To ensure that the 1st Team goalkeepers are fully prepared for games and go through a robust review procedure working in conjunction with the analysis department but led by the 1st Team Manager.
To adhere to the strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to Reading Football Club and its operations.
To be presentable at all times when working and demonstrate that you can represent the face of the Club in the manner expected.
There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
QUALIFICATIONS: Essential - FA Goalkeeping B Licence; FA Youth Award Modules 1&2; FA Safeguarding Children; FA Level 2 First Aid in Football
KNOWLEDGE: Essential - Good computer and numeracy skills; Able to give and receive feedback to colleagues; Understands what drives customer satisfaction and behaviour; Takes ownership and follows up on any issues, makes well considered and timely decisions
SKILLS: Essential - Strong verbal and written communications skills; Excellent teamwork
ATTITUDE: Essential - Proactive and positive attitude; Resilient to difficult situations
