Leicester City in the Community has a fantastic opportunity for an Active Through Football Coordinator to join our dynamic team. We have been successful in securing an exciting new Sport England programme, funded by the National Lottery and delivered by the Football Foundation. As the lead organisation, Leicester City in the Community will work closely with Leicester City Council and community partners in and around the Wycliffe ward to increase active levels of females in the area. About The Role Using the appeal of the Premier League and Leicester City Football Club, Active Through Football will inspire females aged 18 – 49 to increase their participation in physical activity using the medium of football. Available to females in the Wycliffe ward of Leicester, Active Through Football will deliver accessible, culturally sensitive sessions, that aim to positively engage and raise aspirations of females representing diverse ethnic communities as well as promoting healthy lifestyles, wellbeing and the holistic benefits of physical activity. The Active Through Football Coordinator will support and develop a team of part-time coaches, some of which will be recruited by members of the Active Through Football consortium and will implement our ‘Grow your Own’ model; supporting and developing participants into volunteers and ultimately paid members of our Leicester City in the Community team. The successful candidate will split their time between high-quality, engaging delivery and project coordination. Who we’re looking for  If you have an excellent understanding and/or lived experience of engaging female participants in physical activity or working within the Wycliffe area, we want to hear from you. You’ll have experience of working at a local level with community organisations including experience of community engagement, links into communities and knowledge of networks linked to local communities. Equally as important, you’ll have experience of managing relationships with multiple external partners and funders. You’ll use data and insight to influence your delivery plan and you’ll be able to manage and monitor a delegated budget. Most importantly, you’ll have a high-level understanding of inequalities that exist across socio-economic groups in supporting active lives, how they intersect and experience of working to reduce these. Contract Type – 12-month fixed-term contract in the first instance Hours Per Week – 37.5, you will be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends. Location Leicester City in the Community is based at King Power Stadium, Leicester. The delivery of sessions with take place at partner locations and some aspects of the role will require home working, therefore you will need the ability to travel across multiple sites across Leicester and Charnwood.
