Sounding good so far?Digital Products Experiences:Our Digital Products Innovation team look to understand global fans needs and industry trends to accelerate existing products and launch new ones to provide our fans with the best possible digital experience.Teams within the department have responsibility for optimising and enhancing existing products, (e.g. e-Commerce, official membership, MUTV and club channels such as our website and app), as well as bringing to market new propositions such as Digital Collectibles.The Purpose: Manchester United are looking for passionate and creative Web3 Community Marketing Manager to spearhead the expansion of the club social media, community and content efforts, with particular focus on Discord.The Role:The Web3 Community Marketing Manager will be responsible for communicating the club plans for new digital platforms and how we can grow, educate and entertain the community across product launches, matchday moments and day-to-day activations.This role is crucial to the club plans to engage with fans across key new Web3 social media and marketing channels, and help them find new ways to get closer to the club they love. Candidates must understand football fans’ wants and needs, as well as have a knowledge of Web3 and Blockchain, and be able to report back insights that will help to inform senior stakeholders, drive future content moments, and shape new product features.
Develop, implement, and manage the community building strategy for Manchester United official Discord channels.
Engage daily with community members, as well as moderators, and execute innovative activations that deepen the club relationship with fans.
Collaborate with teams to create and deliver multi-platform content, including copywriting, briefing articles design, working with social media teams.
Work with the marketing team to deliver BAU campaigns and new launches.
Support on marketing planning, copywriting, and briefing of asset lists for cross-channel activations.
Support relevant Manchester United partners on delivering their content, community, and social media initiatives.
Coordinate with the wider business to plan and execute a robust roadmap of announcements, promotions and giveaways.
Frequent reporting on community sentiment, milestone moments, and engagement and growth tracking against KPIs.
Schedule, manage and promote Discord town halls, determining attendees and educating potential speakers.
Develop relationships with fan-focused communities and influencers.
Track the latest developments in emergent tech, gaming, entertainment and social media, and how they can drive club social strategy.
Inform the wider business of community platform trends and best practices.
The Person:KEY SKILLS:
Demonstrated expertise working in social media, in-house or agency based.
Experience with community building strategy, preferably on Discord but open to other social channels.
Proactive and strong communicator with a passion for football and sports.
Preferably have firsthand experience in Web3, blockchain or emerging digital products/platforms
Solid understanding of social media KPIs and reporting methods.
Copywriting and content creation skills preferred.
Experience delivery multi-platform digital marketing campaigns a plus
Creative design skills - including video production - a plus.
Nimble - happy to work match days / out of hours occasionally, and be active in the community.
