"Sporting Kansas City seeks a Video Producer & Editor to help elevate the club’s visual storytelling and content on social and digital platforms (including the new MLS/Apple partnership), in our stadium, within club advertising, sponsorships, and across all Sporting Club enterprises.Reporting to the Senior Producer, Video Content, this individual will work closely with others in the Creative, Content and Brand team(s) to execute the content vision in alignment with brand strategy and marketing goals. This individual will push creative boundaries – both for themselves and the Club – as they learn and grow together, striving to help us reach our mission of being the premier sports club in the Midwest and Major League Soccer.The Video Producer & Editor will bring technical know-how in video production, including but not limited to: shooting, editing, motion graphics, equipment, lighting and production. We encourage all talented individuals looking for a challenge to apply.Essential FunctionsCreate engaging video and motion graphics content to promote, market and cover the organizationCreate, produce and edit videos and features for Sporting Kansas City content channels that connects with audiences both locally and globally (through the new MLS/Apple partnership)Produce compelling video content on tight turnaroundsCreate and edit video content across the Club for online, social media, stadium videoboard, on-demand, and advertising – work with leadership and stakeholders from every department to guide storytelling and content approaches in alignment with the Sporting creative visionCreate content and video concepts in accordance with our key moments, brand campaigns, and partnership obligations. Work with the Senior Producer and Senior Manager, Creative Services to prioritize these concepts by highest impact against our club and departmental goalsCollaborate with associates on the Marketing Team to ensure all are working towards the same goal.Work to establish best practices on effective and technical video editing techniques, as well as identify and recommend new audio/video technologies by keeping abreast of developing technology.Ensure all equipment is prepared for each match and is working properly.Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.Available for away match travel (as needed)Perform other related tasks as assigned.Matchday ResponsibilitiesShooting, production, and editing video contentFill in on select Sporting KC away matches as neededPersonal AttributesStrong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills.Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.Ability to multitask and work efficiently, demonstrating exceptional time management.Ability to maintain a professional demeanor while working with professional athletes.Strong work ethic and solution-oriented thinking in a fast-paced environment.High level of energy and commitment.Excellent visual storyteller.High level of creativity.Strong editorial judgement.Ability to work well with a team.Strong familiarity and passion for sports, especially the game of soccer.Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Photography, Film or other related field preferredMinimum of two (2) years of shooting experience with professional cameras.Minimum of two (2) years working in video production.Strong video editing skills in multiple styles.Strong background in video production, including writing, shooting and editing.Proven motion graphics and graphic design experience.Demonstrated ability to produce broadcast-style sports and feature stories with a quick turnaround.On top of emerging trends and equipment advances.Strong knowledge and experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Calendar.Spanish fluency a plus, but not requiredMust be available to work nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to provide a link to a reel or previous work required."
