Job SummaryD.C. United are looking for a Video Editor to support all club content and communication and marketing efforts for the 2022 Major League Soccer season. The position will live within the Communications and Content department, and will be responsible for helping the group to push the creative boundaries of sports video content. The position will stay at the leading edge of social, promotional, and in-venue content execution while adhering to the club’s brand standard. The chosen candidate must be a team player who understands the importance of visual storytelling and adhering to deadlines. Technical skill, flexibility and versatility of work product, and a good attitude and approach to work are musts. This position will report to the club’s Director of Content.All interested candidates must supply a personal reel or portfolio.What You Will DoEdit engaging and entertaining video and motion graphic content for social media, in-venue entertainment, and promotional use for D.C. United and Audi FieldCapture video content to uphold a common production standard of excellenceDevelop original pieces of video contentWork matchdays alongside Communications and Content team to support video capture and video editing of matchday clipsAbility to work on multiple video projects at a given time and execute them promptlyCollaborate with peers within the department and outside of the department to create customized content to fulfill organizational goalsWork closely with the graphic design department to support motion graphic and after effect projectsApply intensive attention to detail to keep club assets organized and develop and maintain efficiency of team collaborative projectsYour Background, Skills and Qualifications3-5 years or professional video editing experience in a related field, sport and soccer not required, but preferredBachelor’s Degree in Broadcast/Journalism, Communications, Film, or a relevant fieldA passion for engaging audiences, working with others, storytelling, thinking outside the box, and pushing the creative boundaries of sports video contentExcellent communication skills with peers and experience working with athletes in a professional settingPrior experience operating and maintaining professional digital video and audio equipmentProficient in Adobe Creative Cloud programs, specifically, Premiere Pro, Pr, Ae, PS, and Media EncoderProficient in manually color-grading videoAbility to travel for certain away matchesExperience in sports, and soccer is a plusCompetencies (KSAs)Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is necessary. Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign a must, After Effects, Camera Raw preferredMust be able to edit and color correct video contentMust possess an excellent content senseMust be able remain comfortable yet energetic in the creative processMust demonstrate a high level of detail-orientation, especially under deadline pressureMust display organization and communicative skillsMust be flexible in working hours, including nights, weekends and holidaysMust possess a strong ability to manage one’s own time and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectivesMust be able to maintain confidentiality and use upmost discretion when privy to sensitive informationMust be flexible & reliable team player, both within own department and within company as a whole.D.C.
