Summary

Lead the delivery of video analysis and data to drive and inform decision making for the Portland Thorns Football Club.

Job Description

To provide detailed analysis reports on opponents, using video and player & team performance statistics.
To create accurate and precise reports to assess the performance of individual players and the team.
Own the management of all technology software programs and innovations.

Roles & Responsibilities.

Watch and analyze opposition match footage providing detailed scouting reports to facilitate the creation of game plans.
Live coding and recording of both training and games to provide instant feedback to technical staff.
Watch and analyze match footage providing a detailed game review report, including team KPI’s.
Assist in the development of game review video packages, team and individual.
Assess player development through training, match footage and coach assessments to help create individual performance plans.
Continually maintain individual player performance databases for use in tracking and monitoring player/positional benchmarks.
Share relevant video, data reports and other resources with staff and players using the various technology platforms.
Contribute to the creation and development of best practice video libraries for all technical staff.
Manage the use and operational function of all software platforms.
Set up of video equipment and all technology.
This position would report directly to the General Manager and Head Coach.

Skills & Experience Required.

2 to 3 years of experience with video analysis for a professional soccer club.
High levels of competency in using video analysis software and methods such as but not limited to Sportscode, Hudl, Wyscout, Statsbomb, Tactic, Spiideo, and Replay.
High levels of competency in using Keynote, PowerPoint and other office software.
Strong understanding of data and statistics and their impact on soccer.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively convey messages to colleagues, coaches and professional athletes.
An enthusiastic approach and proactive attitude
Must have good computer literacy skills and the ability to assimilate new software processes quickly.
Ability to manage workload, set deadlines and priorities and have good time management skills.

Desirable Qualifications.

Degree in Performance/Data Analysis
B license USSF, UEFA or National Equivalent or better
Preferably with over 3 years' experience in Elite soccer/Professional team environment
