Position Purpose:The North Carolina Football Club, the parent organization of the North Carolina Courage (first-division women’s pro soccer team playing in the NWSL) and North Carolina FC (third-division men’s pro soccer team playing in USL League One), is seeking a senior human resources executive to (i) lead its organizational culture, diversity, inclusivity and growth initiatives, and (ii) oversee its traditional HR responsibilities of recruitment, compensation, benefits and performance management.  Reporting to the company’s President, this role is an integral part of the Leadership Team, advising leaders on best practices to attract, retain and engage talent across the Club. The successful candidate’s experience would align with the responsibilities and requirements below. Reports to: PresidentResponsibilities: Talent AcquisitionDevelop and implement strategies to attract talent to the organization Measure recruitment methods and maximize return on investment for the organizationLeverage a deep understanding of recruiting tactics/metrics to fill open positions with talent that will align with our Common Purpose Work with outside counsel and coaches to ensure efficient and timely filing of employment visas; communicate with potential players/trialistsRetention Ensure new hire onboarding creates positive first impression and foundation for successDevelop and implement ways to improve the overall employee experience and measure employee satisfactionDevelop and implement effective ongoing training and wellness programs for front office staff, technical staff and players Actively identify and facilitate leadership development and career growth/progression opportunities Proactively identify barriers to retention and mitigate where able; actively listen to employees and leaders and guide through conflict resolutions where appropriateHarness the existing culture and values when building out internal people-related policies, while devising new ways to reinforce and improve upon the existing cultureDevelop events and other ways to bring together players and technical staff with front-office staff in a way that is comfortable for allPerformance ManagementEvaluate, improve and administer systems for evaluating performance and providing feedback (e.g., implement new 360-degree annual employee reviews)Guide leaders on best practices of performance managementCoach leaders and staff through crucial conversations, assisting as neededTotal RewardsPartner with ADP Total Source (PEO) to drive the strategy and administration of compensation, benefits and HR systemHelp develop opportunities for career growth/progression, promotion reviews, compensation benchmarking, and compensation cyclesDrive meaningful recognition  ComplianceHelp advise the executive team on relevant compliance and employment law and introduce best practices to protect the organizationEvaluate and manage all third-party HR vendors and partners (e.g., ADP PEO)Help maintain company-wide consistency in bonuses, promotions, raises and leadership development Leadership & UnityFacilitate weekly All Staff Meetings Serve as an active member of the organization’s Leadership Team and facilitate Collaborate with internal and external resources to develop unity and reinforce a sense of belonging across all roles in the organization while honoring the differences that are fundamental to everyoneIdentify and measure organizational KPIs and targets for the HR function Reinforce and nurture our Common Purpose internally: UNIFY: Bring together people of different genders, ages, races, faiths, ethnicities, sexual orientation, college affiliation, etc.CREATE: Create positive experiences and lifelong memoriesSUPPORT: Support positive social change (gender equality, racial equality, LGBTQ acceptance/rights, local charities, etc.)DEVELOP: Develop players, coaches, and staff  IMPROVE: Strive to get better every day  ACHIEVE: Being our best in the key momentsRequirements: More than 5 years of experience in an exempt, multi-function HR position sufficient to demonstrate expertise in the following areas: Talent AcquisitionEmployee RelationsDiversity, Equity and InclusionOrganizational developmentPartnership with business in development of HR strategy●      Experience leading an HR department in a complex organization●      Background in sports, media or entertainment is preferred●      Strong understanding of U.S. employment law and associated best practices●      Comfortable working in a fast-paced, lean work environment●      Strong written and verbal communication skills●      Ability to travel locally to different work sites (stadium, office, etc.) ●      Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus●      Experience working with immigration and employment visas strongly preferred●      Periodic attendance at company events, home games, and team practices.The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee in this position.
