Austin FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the League’s 27th club in January 2019.  In June 2021, Austin FC began play in the new, 100% privately financed, $260 million, state-of-the-art Q2 Stadium.    Austin FC is seeking a driven and motivated Vice President, Community Impact who will support the development, management, and execution of the Club’s community Impact strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for helping organize and execute community programs, events, and strategic partnerships designed to strengthen the cultural roots of Austin while mobilizing the next generation of young leaders.  This unique role will work with a team to continue to develop an identify of a major league brand and is a once-in-a-lifetime and career-defining opportunity. The position is based in Austin, TX. Austin has continuously been selected by U.S. News and World Report as a top city to live in in the last six years, while Forbes placed it at the top of its “Cities of the Future” list.
Are You Someone That:·       Is ready to directly supervise tasks while also actively contributing to help complete the necessary tasks in a timely fashion?·       Wants to use the power of soccer to positively impact the Austin community?·       Works well within a collaborative, team-driven, and goal-based environment?·       Consistently prioritizes projects, meetings and fast-changing schedules while remaining productive and professional? Your Will:·       Oversee the Community Impact department including management and development of department staff members; and·       Work as the Community Impact extension of the Marketing Team, bringing the Club’s brand vision to life in ways that positively impact the Austin community; and·       Develop and subsequent execution of annual strategic plan for the Community Impact department; and·       Develop avenues to execute on the Club’s Community Impact pillars: Inclusivity through Equity, Vibrancy through Sustainability and Confidence for Creativity; and·       Serve as one of the primary leaders to monitor and ensure timely fulfillment of various lease obligations outlined in the Lease Agreement with City of Austin (e.g., philanthropic commitments and/or scholarship funding); and·       Proactively develop outreach programs which generate goodwill amongst various community groups while simultaneously generating access to the sport of soccer; and ·       Review and fulfill community group requests via the donation of physical assets (e.g., tickets or autographed merch) and/or unique assets (e.g., player/coach appearances or priceless experiences at the St. David’s Performance Center); and ·       Work with Corporate Partnerships department to identify and fulfill various community-based assets (e.g., school programs, soccer clinics) that could be marketed (and sold) to potential sponsors; and·       Participate in various community events. You Have:·       Bachelor’s Degree ·       Current (or recent) experience within a community/marketing department at a major league sports or other entertainment property ·       Experience in leading a team and working collaborative with other leaders·       Adeptness with project management and excellent organizational skills·       Ability to multi-task and navigate competing priorities·       Experience coordinating events and managing programs·       Experience working behind the scenes and as part of a team to execute a project ·       Effective verbal and written communication skills, with diverse audiences·       English language proficiency (Spanish language skills are a plus) ·       An outstanding work ethic and attention to detail·       Experience in community relations, event management, project management, program coordination, nonprofit work or similar field; past experience in sports and/or entertainment a plus Other Details:·       It is the policy of Austin FC not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, national origin, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, physical or mental disability, marital status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.  ·       All selected candidates are subject to passing a background check prior to employment.·       Hours are variable and can easily include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays in addition to the traditional Monday through Friday hours.
