We’re looking for a motivated, collaborative, and organised VAR Hub Operations Executive to join us at PGMOL. This role is essential assisting in managing the match day VAR Hub operations and coordinating all the non-match day planning and support activities regarding VAR. We’d love to hear from you if you have:

Extensive experience in operational delivery within a sports environment.
Track record of collaborating with and advising senior management.
Proficiency in supplier contract management.
In-depth understanding of football and the Professional Game.
Ability to build relationships across various stakeholders.
Proficient in managing multiple tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
Excellent organisational skills with a commitment to task completion.
Proficient in producing user-friendly, high-quality documentation with keen attention to detail.
Motivated and innovative with a problem-solving mindset.
Values integrity and prioritises collaboration and credibility.
Accountable and resilient, willing to challenge when necessary.

What you can expect to be involved in

Match Day (often evening and weekend games)

• Operate within the VAR Hub for Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Playoff matches, as well as other competitions utilising VAR technology.
• Liaise with Premier League Match Centre to ensure seamless match rounds, addressing any VAR and officiating inquiries.
• Prepare the VAR Hub for each match day, including creating and distributing relevant documentation and coordination of the VAR’s matchday provisions.
• Communicate with the Hawk-Eye duty Manager to confirm match arrangements.
• Implement and carry out the Recovery Plan in case of issues, ensuring adherence to best practices and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Create and share essential match incident clips with senior leadership promptly.
• Report notable reviews and incidents during each match round to relevant stakeholders.

Non-Match Day

• Contribute to clip selection and checking footage/transcripts to use in either media work or training material.
• Contribute to the development and execution of match official training programs.
• Update and maintain the VAR Recovery Plan, ensuring alignment with best practices.
• Support staff training on any new technologies and processes.
• Assist in the delivery of performance data related to VAR.
• Support innovation within PGMOL through the delivery of new technologies in collaboration with other multi-disciplinary teams.
• Assist with the development and implementation of any future business opportunities.
• Supporting post-match round reviews with stakeholders.
