Role description

Hull City Academy has an exciting opportunity for an U7-U12’s Local Recruitment Manager. Working closely with the Head of Academy Recruitment and a team of Academy Scouts and Coaches, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the Academy Recruitment strategy for players age 7 to 12 years old, managing the full Elite Player Pathway, from Entry to Exit.
 
Position Type:         Full time, permanent. Must be willing to work unsociable hours and weekends
Location:                   Bishop Burton College, Hull.
Salary:                       Dependent on experience
 
Your key responsibilities
 
Be responsible for carrying out the Academy Recruitment strategy for U7-U12’s age groups across the local catchment area, as set by the Head of Academy Recruitment
Attend fixtures to identify players aged U7-U12 suitable for trial with Hull City Academy
Manage the trial process for U7-U12’s throughout Hull City Academy’s Elite Player Pathway, from Entry to Exit
Be responsible for organising & delivering additional Talent ID Events throughout each season to maximise player identification
Lead & manage the Pre-Academy Talent ID & Recruitment process
Lead & manage Development Centres & Advanced Centre operations, inclusive of staff coverage, communication with parents, player & staff development & Talent ID
Oversee & evolve the Development Centres & Advanced Centre to enhance Identification of suitable players for Hull City’s Academy, ensuring late developers are accounted for
Collaborate with Academy Coaches to arrange additional fixtures to create Talent ID opportunities
Collaborate with a designated team of Academy Scouts
Ensure that Scouts take responsibility for the attendance and coverage of relevant fixtures for ages U7-U12 across the catchment area and this is communicated internally
Assist the Head of Academy Recruitment with the training & development of Academy Scouts through contributions to internal CPD meetings
Continually monitor designated Scouts’ player recommendations & follow up on all players identified
Ensure all players of interest to Hull City Academy are logged & tracked on the electronic database
Contribute to multi-disciplinary decision-making meetings to discuss trialist performance & potential, leading to retain or release decisions
Collaborate with the AMT, administrative staff and Head of Academy Recruitment to support the trialist / signing administrative process for U7-U12’s
Develop, maintain & enhance relationships with key internal stakeholders to provide the best possible environment for player recruitment & retention
Develop, maintain & enhance relationships with key external stakeholders such as Tigers Trust, Leagues, Clubs, County FA’s, Schools Associations & other organisations
Contribute to Talent ID & Recruitment of players of all ages beyond the U7-U12 range when required
Contribute as a member of the Academy Recruitment department to the continued progression of the department’s daily operations
At all times adhere to EPPP regulations and varying Academy Recruitment processes on a local scale
Contribute to the ongoing EPPP Audit each season, through the maintenance of accurate recordings & any other evidence required
Support the Head of Academy Recruitment with the advancement of the Academy Recruitment department’s policies, protocols & procedures
Attend all recruitment meetings when required
Manage Development Centre & Advanced Centre Coaching Staff
Ensure that any Child Welfare or Safeguarding issues are reported immediately to the relevant personnel
Undergo ad-hoc tasks at the direction of the Academy Manager & Head of Academy Recruitment
 
What are we looking for?
 
A proven track record of success in the identification and recruitment of players within an academy system (Essential)
Excellent knowledge and experience of the football environment relating to the recruitment of players and the regulations that govern player recruitment
Experience of EPPP (advantageous)
Knowledge and understanding of the geographical catchment area for potential players at Hull City, and a clear understanding of the local clubs/leagues in the area (Desirable)
Excellent communication skills and adherence to high levels of confidentiality
Hold a full valid UK driving licence
The safeguarding and welfare of our players is paramount and as such this position is subject to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
Qualifications & Training:
The FA Talent ID Level Two (Essential)
FA Safeguarding Certificate (Essential)
