Role description
We are seeking an experienced, skilful and driven individual to join our Academy Coaching Team in the role of Under 21 Head Coach.
Our Academy mission is to ‘support individuals to fulfil their potential’.
The U21 Head Coach is a senior Academy coaching role and has three broad purposes:
1. To facilitate and lead the coaching programme for all Academy players and staff across the u21 age group in line with the Academy Performance Plan.2. To support the transition of u21 players into Professional Football.3. Develop the wider Academy programme, contributing towards the Academy Technical Plan and specifically providing a key point of connection between the Academy and the First Team.
The successful individual will have a number of direct and indirect reports, including the u21 Assistant Coach and Multi-Disciplinary Team members.
The demanding nature of u21 football requires us to support players for multiple pathways, these may include a pathway into the Clubs first team squad, into a loan experience at another Club, or beyond football, be that into education or an alternative career.
Due to the complex nature of the challenges that exist within the Academy football system, the wider industry, and this particular ‘stage’ of the development pathway, we are ideally seeking someone who has experience in the professional adult game (as a player or coach).
Individual’s that wish to apply should have:
• The UEFA A Coaching Licence, and or, the FA Advanced Youth Award (preferably for the Professional Development Phase).• Existing coaching experience either at a Category 1 or 2 Academy or Professional First Team.• Consistent values and behaviours that align towards development environments.• Knowledge and awareness of sound learning and development principles.• Outstanding and adaptable communication skills to support and foster strong relationships.• An inner drive and clear passion to support the development of the people around you.• Football industry knowledge and experience to understand what it is we are supporting our people towards.
