ROLE: UNDER 18S COACH
Celtic Football Club is currently seeking an Under 18’s Coach who will report directly to the Under 18s Manager.
The under 18s Coach will be responsible for aspects of the coaching delivery for the U/18 squad, including preparation for matches, training sessions, team selection, and performance analysis. The position is also support the delivery of parental/representative meetings. The under 18s’s Coach will also create an individual development plan for each player on their football and academic needs.
Responsible for communicating the schedule for the approved Youth Development Syllabus.
Establishes and maintains appropriate standards, practices and procedures for the safe and effective operation of the allocated squad, including Child Wellbeing Procedures.
Establishes and maintains comprehensive and up-to date records for the players and the team including assessments of individuals’ capabilities and development needs and provides reports to management as appropriate.
Driving duties will include transporting to and from school and training sessions.
Prepare and plan for U/18 games and training sessions and play a key role with the development and delivery of the U/18 curriculum, including the periodisation model.
Liaise with the medical team regarding the fitness and health of players within your squad.
Liaise with the Education and Welfare Officer to ensure the delivery of the Academic/Vocational educational provision to players is supported
Assess players in conjunction with the Head of Academy and Youth, The under 18s Manager, the Celtic FCB Manager and Intermediate Team Manager.
Recommends to the Head of Academy and Youth on the recruitment, retention or otherwise of particular youth players.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
UEFA A Licence qualification as minimum
Strong IT skills with good understanding of using Keynote, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Approachable and able to build and maintain positive working relationships
Previous experience of working in a professional football environment
A full clean driving licence is essential, and a flexible approach to working hours, with evening and weekend working required for this role.
