We are currently recruiting an under-18 (U18) Lead Coach to join our Academy on a full-time, permanent basis at our Cliff Hill Training Ground facility.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced coach to join our supporter owned club which through the Exeter City Supporters' Trust has gone from strength to strength.
The role of U18 Lead Coach is designed to support, guide and direct talented young players to maximise their potential in sporting performance and personal excellence.
Working from an aligned and periodised coaching curriculum this position will work with the scholarship players and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to manage and oversee all activities within the U18 squad.
The successful candidate will work to produce adaptable players capable of performing in different formations and with varying tactical roles playing quality, possession-based football that feeds talented young players into the professional game at the highest possible level.
As U18 Lead Coach you will actively assist in other parts of the U18 programme, College, SEP, UEFA C Coaching and combine and collaborate with the Senior PDP coach in U23 practice and competitive games. Carrying out recorded Match Analysis with team, units individual players and establishing individual, unit and team challenges targets all form part of this role.
Other duties include ensuring all U18 players fully understand and adhere to rules guidelines set out for them. Planning, evaluating and recording all training sessions, conducting 6-weekly recorded reviews with individual players on achievements and progress and discussing, agreeing evaluating ILP for U18 players as part of the review process.
Candidates must have experience in coaching within a Professional Football Club and must hold a UEFA A coaching licence and up to date Level 4 CPD hours. Other qualifications required include FA Youth Award (complete competent), FA Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF) and current FA Safeguarding children certificate. Candidates with FA Advanced Youth Award - Professional Development Phase specific is desirable but not essential and candidates must be willing to engage in and undertake Continued Professional Development (CPD).
It is essential candidates have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and have a professional, patient and persistent approach. A strong work ethic and an individual competent in planning, leading, delivering and assessing is essential. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the vision of the football coaching department and will therefore need to be a logical and innovative thinker
