Celtic Football Club is currently seeking an U/18 Lead Coach to support all aspects of coaching delivery including preparation for matches, training sessions, team selection, and performance analysis. The delivery of parental/representative meetings and development of player programmes and educational needs for U/18 players. The overall purpose of the role is to develop the player as an individual.
Key accountabilities will include:

Operates as directed by the Head of Academy Coaching
Transporting to and from school and support travel of U/18s players to training sessions using company car/pool car provided
Demonstrates and ensures at all times a professional conduct to all participating personnel and players
Establishes and maintains comprehensive and up-to date records for the players and the team including, but not confined to, records of attendance, development activities undertaken on particular dates and assessments of individuals’ capabilities, development needs and application
Prepares and plans for U/18 games, coaching sessions and analysis sessions
Will play a key role with the development and delivery of the U/18 curriculum, including the periodisation model
Liaises with the medical team regarding the fitness and treatment of players within the allocated squad and responsible for ensuring that the physiological and psychological wellbeing of the players within your squad is supported
Will be required to attend Academy matches in order to assess players
To have an understanding of Children’s Rights
To develop professional relationships with players, parents and carers
Participate in training as part of continuous personal development on Safeguarding, Wellbeing and Child Protection
Provide effective leadership to all direct reports, enabling the continuous development and improvement of team members.
Ensure team members feel valued and recognised by acknowledging and celebrating team and individual successes.
Alongside HR, provide relevant wellbeing support to colleagues and maintain open channels of communication ensuring sufficient opportunity is available for team members to ask for support

Skills and Experience required:

UEFA A Licence
Ability to work with, engage and form positive relationships with Children and Young People
Strong IT skills with good understanding of using Keynote, Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
Ability to promote a safe and supportive environment
Ability to have difficult conversations
To be empathetic and approachable, with excellent listening skills
To have strong written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work with discretion and maintain high levels of confidentiality at all times.
Highly organised with good time keeping and strong leadership skills


UEFA Pro Licence qualification
Previous experience working in  professional football
Experience of working with Children and Young People
Knowledge or awareness off inclusion, equality, anti-discrimination and safeguarding
A working understanding of inclusion, equality and anti-discrimination, safeguarding and best practice

Additional Requirements: 

Full Clean Driving Licence
This role will require an annual driver’s medical
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and match days
This role is considered regulated work and therefore will require membership of the Disclosure Scotland Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.  If the role incumbent is already a member of the PVG scheme, at the point of appointment, relevant updates will be required to be completed by the Club.
