Junior Pathway Lead
RATE OF PAY:
Sheffield United FC Women and Girls are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic coach to join us as the U14s Assistant Coach to support the U14s Head Coach in delivery of the coaching and match day programme of the U14s team and aid the transition of the academy players into the U16's and beyond.
Please note that this is a fixed-term role until the end of the 2023/2024 season, with the possibility of renewal for the successful candidate.
Collaborate closely with the U14s Head Coach on all matters pertaining to the U14s program.
Support the U14s Head Coach in managing the U12 team match fixture program in coordination with the MDT staff.
Assist in the implementation of the Clubs' developed team style of play.
Conduct coaching and training sessions for the U14s squad.
Participate, as needed, in delivering training sessions to players other than the U14 squad, as requested by the Academy Manager/Junior Pathway Lead.
Ensure clear communication of the schedule (times/dates) for specific elements of the coaching and match day programs, including any amendments.
Establish and uphold appropriate standards, practices, and procedures for the safe and effective operation of your allocated squad, ensuring the professional conduct of all participating personnel and players.
Provide assistance with the Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) when required.
Collaborate with the U12's coach to understand which players may be transitioning into the U14s and determine the best way to support this process.
Liaise with the U14s Head Coach and the medical team regarding the fitness and treatment of players within the squad.
Take responsibility for maintaining the physiological and psychological well-being of the players within your squad.
Support the Head Coach and Strength & Conditioning (S&C) lead in implementing all Sports Science programs with all players in the U14s squad.
Support the U14s Head Coach in regular Individual Development Plans (IDPs) with all players.
Provide assistance to the U14s Head Coach in verbal and/or written reports as required, covering individual players' capabilities and development needs, as well as the capabilities and needs of groups of players within the U12 age-group (e.g., by age, position, etc.).
Participate, as required, in creating both group and individual coaching programs appropriate to the development requirements of the U14 players.
Make recommendations concerning the recruitment, retention, or other decisions related to youth players in the U14s age group, in cooperation with the U14s Head Coach.
Undertake miscellaneous administrative tasks related to the Club's Youth Development activities, as requested by the Academy Manager and youth pathway lead.
Attend regular Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings as required.
Adhere to good communication practices with all parents/caregivers when required.
Act and behave at all times to project a proper professional image of Sheffield United Football Club and act in the best interests of the Club.
Fulfill any other reasonable requests directed by management.

Essential Criteria for the role:
FA Licensed Coach (Member of the Licensed Coaches Club to cover safeguarding and first aid).
Experience of and enthusiasm for coaching and mentoring elite youth players and/or coaches.
Demonstratable record of producing high performing youth players who have reached 21s/ First Team level playing.
Ability to empathise with young players with an ability to inspire.
Excel FA Licensed Coach (Member of the Licensed Coaches Club to cover safeguarding and first aid)
Experience of and enthusiasm for coaching and mentoring elite youth players and/or coaches
Track record of producing high performing youth players who have reached academy level.
Empathy with young players with an ability to inspire.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build meaningful, strong strategic relationships with Club staff at all levels.
Understanding of learning, development and high performance with proven ability to create optimum learning environments for players.
Aware of diversity and equality challenges in football.
Empathy and commitment to the long-term development of the game.
Strong existing relationships within the Academy network.
An enhanced Disclosure and Baring Service check.
