Role description

Job purpose:

To lead and support the development of players within the U11 age group to progress through the pathway.

Duties and responsibilities:

To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all elite players, promoting their well-being needs whilst maintaining professional boundaries;
To plan, deliver and review elite standard coaching sessions in line with the Girls’ Regional Talent Club technical programme;
To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team;
Complete and update player administration;
Work according to Blackburn Rovers Ladies and RTC philosophy and club values;
To support the assistant coach / volunteers and build a professional relationship;
To plan/prepare, deliver and review elite standard coaching sessions in line with the RTC technical programme;
Identify and prioritise individual coaching requirements and devise individual development plans for all players;
To conduct 3 player reviews during each season and record information accordingly;
Develop and implement a game strategy with transfer from training to match day for players to perform;
To keep the coaching folder up to date with all relevant information outlined by the Technical Director;
To communicate professionally with parents regarding training and match day information;
To challenge, inspire and motivate players during training and on matchdays;
To be punctual and organised at all times and be approachable to all players;
Be pro-active with own continuous professional development within the role;
Work alongside and interact with other coaches to ensure the integration of players is monitored;
Attend staff meetings to collaborate with all other departments; and
Any other duties as reasonable associated with the role of Head coach.

Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and independently;
Good communication with key internal and external stakeholders;
Ability to meet deadlines;
Good listening skills;
Competent use of key IT programmes including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as key online systems;
Ability to solve problems; and
To maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times

Knowledge required:

Knowledge and understanding of Talent Identification;
An appreciation and knowledge of long-term player development;
Knowledge and understanding of working with young elite female players;
An understanding of the FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway; and
Knowledge of safeguarding children requirements and procedures.

Qualifications required:

FA Level 2 (essential);
UEFA B (or working towards);
FA Youth Award;
Futsal Level 1;
FA Safeguarding; and
FA Coaches Licence.

Enhanced DBS Check required.
