Job Description Job Description Wigan Athletic Community Trust is looking to recruit a talented individual to coordinate and deliver Traineeships and Employability programmes for people aged 16+ years. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with young people as well as taking a lead role in delivering and developing the Traineeship programme and other employability programmes for the Trust. Salary: £20,000 – £22,000 Type of contract: Fixed term until 31st August 2022 You will: • Plan and deliver quality 12 week Traineeship programmes for NEET 16 – 24 year olds. This includes workshops supporting learners with creation of CV, cover letters and interview preparation. • Develop and build positive relationships with a range of external agencies to support recruitment and referral of learners to the programmes. • Provide quality teaching and learning on a range of Level 1 and 2 qualifications. • Coordinate and develop quality work placement opportunities for students both internally and externally, establishing strong relationships across the club and with local employers and businesses. • Recruit learners from a range of different settings. The successful candidate will have: • 5 GCSE’s A-C including English and Maths (or equivalent). • Educated to degree standard or equivalent. • Experience of delivering employability workshops. • Experience of working on projects with young people aged 16–24. • A proven track record of successfully working with young people at risk of long term unemployment. • Knowledge and understanding of barriers and obstacles individuals face when moving into employment and training • The ability to empathise with students and also challenge negative behaviours
