About the Football Foundation

With the recent announcement that ;205 million of government funding will be made available to invest in community sports facilities across England in the next three years, the Football Foundation is well-supported to continue to invest in pitches and communities across the nation. This investment will be used by the Football Foundation to target communities up and down the country who will benefit most from access to better sports facilities.
To help us with this important mission, we currently have a vacancy for a Technical Project Executive, who will assist with the scrutiny of the technical/construction aspects of capital grant applications and ensure the successful completion of new and improved sports facilities.

The role

Working within the Technical function of the Grant Management Team you will have the opportunity to get involved in all technical aspects of the grant management process and undertake a variety of projects. This opportunity is designed to provide the successful candidate with real hands-on practical experience.
Within this environment, you will work towards having responsibility for managing a portfolio of projects across the country, with a particular emphasis on ensuring that the design, procurement and delivery of capital projects meet relevant requirements, whilst safeguarding the Foundation’s investment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified graduate, or a more experienced graduate looking for a different career path.
You don't need to follow football to apply, but it is expected that you appreciate the power of sport to change lives and have a genuine interest in using your skills and experience to help the Football Foundation achieve our charitable and strategic objectives.

What are we looking for?

You will need a degree in a relevant construction related field (for example, architecture, building surveying, planning, civil engineering, quantity surveying, project management or construction management)
As a recent graduate, you may have minimal work experience, but you should be able to demonstrate:

Some knowledge or experience of Budget and financial monitoring
An understanding of procurement
Knowledge of project management principles and methodology
An understanding of the design process and the principles of risk reduction
Experience in analysing drawings, specifications and related documentation
Some experience of attending building sites or assisting in site inspections

You must also have great people skills and the ability to work with people at all levels, from clients and suppliers to volunteers. We are looking for someone who can inspire and excite our applicants. You must be accurate, systematic, and flexible with the ability to juggle a wide range of activities.
You must hold a current, clean driving licence, have access to your own vehicle, and be willing to undertake site visits to be able to undertake the role.

In addition to a salary of ;25,000 - ;35,000 per annum (depending on your relevant skills and experience), you will start on 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (which increases after 2 years), plus additional time off to volunteer.
