POSITION SUMMARYThe Technical Head Coach will support and report directly to the Club’s Director of Soccer by assisting to coordinate and deliver technical programs within the club’s recreational and competitive environments. The successful candidate will deliver on the directives of the technical program; this individual will be responsible for both on field coaching and off field administration as needed as it relates to the age group assigned. This position takes place on evenings and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITY REQUIREMENTSCoaching Technical Coaching a team of athletes to compete, grow and have fun in the sport. Be approachable, inclusive, and willing to create and support a safe environment for all. Manage game day and ensuring all members of the team are participating and enjoying. Follow a technical framework/curriculum and session plans. Organize engaging sessions that are age and stage appropriate. Provide basic reports to the DOS to contribute to coach education, evaluation, and development for short and long-term goals. Use video analysis to better support athletes and team objectives. Recruit, Retain and Develop athletes using a holistic approach.
Customer Service Assist in explaining team structures to members. Guide new participants to the appropriate program or person based on needs. Assist existing team members with any concerns they have. Community and create development goals with players and their families.
Program Execution Growth Set up and tear down of equipment for each session; ensure all equipment is accounted for, in good and safe condition.
Adhere to Club policies, procedures, and standards (Canada Soccer, Ontario Soccer and Brams United) Assisting in the identification and selection of players to maximize program growth. Provide mentorship and guidance for assistant and support coaches. Attend Information Sessions as outlined by the Club. Attend and support Club events as needed. Program analysis (on-field oversight).
Operational Communicate with parents when required. Report any issues to the DOS with anything serious being documented via email. Complete player evaluations as instructed by the Club. Ensure TeamSnap is kept up to date (review game schedules, etc.) with support of Club operations. Communicate and manage team volunteers such as assistant coaches and team managers. Tasks and responsibilities as needed by Director of Soccer or Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS Previous coaching experience with athletes U13+ (Minimum 3 years) Minimum C License Certified Respect in Soccer, Making Ethical Decisions, Making Headway, Rule of Two in NCCP locker. Valid driver’s license. Be able to work in Canada. Vulnerable Sector Check (within 2 years). Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) Proven ability to motivate and inspire others in fulfilling the team’s goals. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
