ROLE DESCRIPTION

The North Carolina Football Club, owner and operator of two affiliated professional soccer teams: the North Carolina Courage (NWSL) and North Carolina FC (USL Championship), is seeking a Technical Analyst.  This position is responsible for providing valuable insights and analysis to improve team performance, player development, and strategic decision-making. This individual will play a pivotal role in creating data-driven insights for the team coaching staff and players.  Using a variety of communication techniques, the data shared will aid in the creation and delivery of information. The individual who successfully meets the requirements below will report to the Head Coach while working closely with other technical coaches.  At times this position will take direction on projects from the Chief Soccer Officer.Key Job Responsibilities:Scout prospective targets using data and video analysis.Working across all age groups: watching games, clipping games, creating analysis videos, reporting, and managing all content generated by others in the technical group.Play a role in the Club's talent identification process.Ensure excellent communication and collaboration exists within the department.Monitor designated leagues and targets.Be comfortable with modern scouting methods to identify, record, and track talent.Deliver to deadlines, ensuring accuracy and consistency always exist.Deliver a high standard of work in a pressurized environment with tight deadlines.Collaborate closely with coaching staff, players, and other team personnel to ensure the integration of performance analysis insights into training and match preparations.Oversee the collection and analysis of match footage using video analysis software.Provide comprehensive post-match analysis to the coaching staff, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.Collaborate closely with coaching staff to make informed decisions regarding tactics and strategy adjustments.Lead the scouting of upcoming opponents, analyzing their playing style, strengths, and weaknesses.Prepare and deliver detailed scouting reports for the coaching staff and players.Support coaches to develop game plans based on opposition analysis.Assist coaching staff in identifying areas for player improvement.Prepare video clips and presentations to provide constructive feedback to individual players.Video Editing and Presentation.Oversee the editing and organization of video footage for team analysis and player feedback.Stay abreast of the latest developments in video analysis and performance tracking software.Other duties as assigned.  Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sports management, sports science, analytics, business, or a related field, and/or the equivalent of 3-5 years of work experience in performance data.Great communication skills and the ability to form good working relationships with key staff and players.Experience and ability to design and implement insightful metrics, dashboards & communication tools using visual analytics software.Strong ability to pool and quickly sift, analyze, identify anomalies and patterns, and summarize large volumes of data.Ability to apply data visualization techniques to assist in the decision-making process and facilitate insightful discussions amongst key stakeholders.Ability and commitment to working irregular and unsociable hours during the season.A proven track record of meeting assigned goals and deadlines. Must be a team player with a positive attitude and embrace a challenge. Knowledge and passion for soccer are a plus.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
