Team manager for DBU's youth national team
As a team manager, you will be responsible for planning and running international matches and activities for one or more of DBU's youth national teams at home and abroad, as well as for handling various administrative tasks in DBU's sports department
About the position:
As team manager, together with the national youth coach, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the team's activities at home and abroad, including European Championship qualifiers and final rounds.
An important part of the work with a national team consists of ensuring continuous information, dialogue and cooperation with a wide range of stakeholders, including clubs, players, UEFA and opposing teams.
About you:
We expect that you have experience from the world of professional sports, either as a former player or that you have management and administrative experience from a professional football club. It will be an advantage if you have a relevant higher education.
You must be able to handle peak periods and be able to act with authority in tense situations. We attach great importance to you having an extremely flexible working approach. You must have an elitist mindset and not compromise with the sporting setup, but at the same time manage the financial resources so that the team has the optimal conditions. You must communicate and present messages and information precisely and effectively to the many stakeholders around a national team, which requires a good understanding of the mechanisms of team management, i.a. in relation to the collaboration with the staff around the teams.
It is important that you have a strong administrative profile, as you are expected to undertake administrative tasks such as committee work, tournament administration and the like,
As a team manager, you yourself participate in all the team's activities at home and abroad, so it is crucial that you are prepared to travel 60 - 90 days, depending on the teams' sporting success.
DBU is a politically led organization and it will be a strength to have experience of working in such an organization.
You must be able to say yes to the following requirements:
You have experience from the world of professional sports, either as a former athlete or as a sporting/administrative manager
You have a relevant higher education
You have experience with project management and planning and coordinating
You are extremely quality conscious and have an understanding of a high performance setup
You are able to communicate and collaborate with players and clubs at home and abroad and can communicate in written and spoken English
You are able to work closely with the team and the staff around the team
You can show great flexibility in relation to having to travel up to 90 days a year in periods defined by the national team season
You have experience in traveling and being responsible for groups
It is an advantage that you have knowledge of:
Project management and/or experience with team management
Working with budgets
To work in a political and elitist organization
