Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation (MFCF) is the Club independent charity of MFC established in 1996 by Club Chairperson, Steve Gibson. The Foundation uses the power of the MFC brand to engage with the community to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults to maximise their potential to achieve.
Working closely with the Targeted Youth Coordinator and within the Social Inclusion team, you will deliver on all aspects of the targeted youth provision focusing on one-to-one mentoring and small group work with young people identified as high-risk and referred into Middlesbrough FC Foundation (the Foundation) for additional support. The role will deliver Substance funded Chances, Middlesbrough Council Switch It and/or Premier League Kicks Targetedprogrammes. The role will include facilitating meaningful activity through one-to-ones such as developing life skills, working towards qualifications and improving school attainment. The role will contribute to wider Foundation delivery and strategic priorities, including other programme delivery where there is synergy and a thematic lead role.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate a range of sessions and activities for Chances, Switch It and/or Premier League Kicks Targeted, including group work and one-to-one support, delivered within the specified geographical area.• Manage Project Worker and/or Apprentice timetable, to deliver required Foundation programmes including education programmes but not limited to.• Support the Targeted Youth Coordinator to design and adapt the content of delivery to meet the needs of individual beneficiaries and partners.• Work closely with partner agencies, particularly the local authority youth offending and missing from home teams and Cleveland Police Complex Exploitation Team.• Deliver on wider Foundation programmes, within other strategic themes such as Health and Wellbeing and Social Inclusion.• Working with the Adult Engagement Coordinator, contribute to data and impact measurement working with the Data and Impact Coordinator.• Consult with the Safeguarding Officer to understand and support the complex safeguarding and risk requirements of activities.• Work with other projects and teams to contribute to a coordinated approach including continuous professional development, quality assurance, training, and events.
Essential• Experience and/or understanding of youth engagement and criminal justice sector• Experience of delivering mentoring, meaningful activities and workshops• Level 2 youth work practice• Level 2 mentoring qualification• Flexible working in accordance with the requirements of the service• Ability to communicate well with a range of participants, including those currently inactive.• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.• Good verbal and written communication with both young people and adults.• IT skills, to include knowledge of using a variety of software packages including word processing, spread sheets and databases.• Full driving licence with ability to work/visit a variety of locations other than immediate work place on a regular basis.
Desirable• Level 1 sports coaching qualification from a recognised NGB• Mental health first aid (youth)• Emergency First Aid
