Job title: System AdministratorDepartment: Information Technology DepartmentBased at: Ewood Park stadium, Blackburn, BB2 4JF. Flexibility regarding location is required with occasional travel to other registered BRFC sites for the performance of duties.Reports to: Head of ITResponsible for: N/AHours of work: 35 hours per week plus any additional hours necessary for the performance of duties. This will include occasional evening and weekend Matchday work in accordance with the department Matchday rota.Contractual status: Permanent
1. Job purpose: To maintain, update and support the infrastructure and I.T. systems of thebusiness.
2. Duties and responsibilities To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all staff, customers and clients of the Club; To maintain the backups and manage the Disaster Recovery configuration; To monitor and be proactive in network security systems; To maintain, administer and document the company physical infrastructure including physical server portfolio, SAN storage devices and UPS devices; To maintain, administer and document the company virtual infrastructure (Vmware); To monitor and manage the company backup systems / strategies (Veeam); To maintain / administer and document company domain support services such as GPO, DNS, DHCP, print; To assist the Head of IT to maintain and develop the company DR/BCP/Cyber response plan; To work alongside the Network (switch) engineer on VLAN management and troubleshooting; To provide second line technical support to all departments within the organisation; To work in the security operations centre (SOC) to develop the network security principles, policies and ensure security takes priority over other areas; To ensure updates and patches are applied to the systems under administration; To document updates and changes in systems as they are maintained; To provide match day technical support when required; To undertake/assist in at least 2 concurrent I.T related projects at any one time; To liaise with outside suppliers/support contactors as required; To obtain quotes from preferred suppliers; To monitor systems outside of business hours when necessary to maintain network health using communication systems in place; To maintain a regular review of current systems and to review new developments that would benefit the department and club; To take an active part in meetings and when required, organise and chair meetings with staff and suppliers to the benefit of the project required;
To review and propose new technologies and software for the club; Lead on key projects, create and develop a project plan. Where necessary, meet deadlines and objectives to deliver projects on time as well as meeting other responsibilities; Create and maintain documentation of systems managed on a regular basis to the benefit of the department/business; and Any other duties as reasonably assigned by the Head of IT.

4. Qualifications Required: Educated to degree level in Computing (desirable); A-levels in a relevant field (or equivalent); Minimum of five GCSEs including English and Maths at a Grade C or above or equivalent; and To hold a valid UK driving licence for the ability to travel to other sites as and when required.
