We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC Foundation team as a STEM Coordinator.
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate STEM coordinator to join our PL Primary stars. As a STEM Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and educational STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programmes to primary and secondary school students, as well as facilitating professional development opportunities for teachers and internal staff.
This position will also involve targeted engagement with females, youth intervention, and identified young people, promoting inclusivity and diversity in STEM education.
Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of the Premier League and Liverpool football club to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.
What will you be doing?
STEM Programme Delivery: Develop and deliver interactive STEM programmes, integrating football-related content, to primary and secondary school students. Use innovative teaching methods to engage students and promote curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Teacher and Internal Staff CPD: Organise and facilitate professional development workshops, seminars, and training sessions for teachers and internal staff, focusing on integrating STEM concepts into the curriculum and incorporating football-related activities. Support educators in developing their knowledge and confidence in teaching STEM subjects.
Inclusive Engagement: Develop targeted strategies and initiatives to actively engage females, youth intervention participants, and identified young people in STEM activities. Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and promotes diversity in STEM education.
Partnership Development: Collaborate with local schools, educational institutions, and community organisations to establish partnerships and enhance the reach and impact of STEM education programmes. Identify and explore opportunities for additional pathways and further engagement for programme participants.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of STEM-focused curriculum resources, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices. Create engaging educational materials, lesson plans, and resources that integrate football-related content.
Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of STEM programmes and initiatives, collecting feedback and data to measure impact. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate programme outcomes, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Personal Development: Stay abreast of current trends and advancements in STEM education and the sports industry. Continuously enhance your own knowledge and skills through professional development opportunities, conferences, and networking events.

Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will have strong knowledge and understanding of STEM subjects and their practical applications. You will have experience in designing and delivering engaging educational programmes for students and familiar with curriculum development and integration of STEM concepts into education. It is important you have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and can work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The right candidate will have a passion for football and an understanding of its potential to inspire and motivate young people. As well as, able to demonstrate commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and promoting opportunities for underrepresented groups.
Essential Qualifications
Worked in a school setting delivering content/curriculum.
Created and developed curriculum content.
Maintains skills in behaviour management techniques working with whole groups and targeted groups.
Desirable Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., STEM education, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, etc.).
Teaching certification or experience in primary or secondary education.

This is a full-time fixed term role (12 months) working 35 hours per week, 5 from 7 days with some weekend work required. Your main base will Anfield Sports Community Centre, Liverpool however the post holder will also be required to work from other locations across Merseyside from time to time and be willing to travel within England and Wales.
