SENIOR DIRECTOR OF MARKETING Position Summary The Senior Director of Marketing will build and manage robust, innovative, and impactful marketing campaigns and programming centered around the Washington Spirit, with a priority focus on growing our fan base and establishing brand awareness within the Washington, DC region. This individual will take a fan first approach and be responsible for developing and implementing season-long campaigns and ensuring the successful execution of integrated marketing initiatives that align with the Washington Spirit’s business and brand objectives.  While subject to change at the discretion of Club Management, the outline of the position as of today is as follows:  Duties/Responsibilities·       Develops and leads marketing campaigns cross-departmentally with ticket sales, operations, corporate partnerships, and community relations·       Creates and executes all media planning, buying, and reporting for advertising across all platforms. ·       Oversees content team and maintains a quarterly creative content calendar.·       Works in partnership with Sales on ticket sale promotions including but not limited to season ticket member promotion, single match ticket promotion, group sale promotion, and themed game experiencesOngoing review of marketing campaign performance and optimization based on learnings and insights·       Works in partnership with corporate partnership sales and partnership marketing to develop marketing assets, original content, and activations to deliver value to the club’s corporate partners.Coordinate cross-departmental process and collaboration around campaigns, platforms, and announcements to ensure project timelines, marketing calendars, branding, promotion, communication, analytics, subject matter experts, and partnership integrations are aligned and executed ·       Functions as a liaison between the club and the league for marketing assets.·       Builds and adjusts marketing strategies as well as creative content calendar to reach current fans and build new audiences.·       Creates marketing systems and processes to support key organizational goals  Skills & Abilities ·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills·       Thorough understanding of Washington, DC sports fan market·       Thorough understanding of multi-channel marketing strategies and practices·       Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to comprehend customer segmentation and market research·       Strong supervisory and leadership skills·       High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance·       Ability to multitask and meet deadlines·       Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays·       Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays when the game schedule and workload require it·       Ability to attend all home games Education & Experience ·       8+ years of experience in marketing required, preferably in sports or entertainment·       Media planning and buying experience required Digital and direct marketing experienceExperience sourcing and overseeing contracted vendors and agency project workAbility to develop positive, professionally and collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders such as management, staff, contractors, partners, etc.·       Commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion required ·       Previous experience working for a professional sports team or league preferredWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
