Overview



Major League Soccer (MLS) is launching a production and broadcast operation to support its new distribution deal with Apple TV.

A creative storyteller and dynamic teammate, the Senior Coordinator, Studio Production will contribute to the execution of content programming efforts, with an emphasis in studio production, that drives engagement, viewership and overall interest in the league.



Responsibilities




Collaborate with studio production and cross-functional teams to:

Create, produce and distribute various studio content series
Edit videos in a timely manner, for use in live studio environments
Assist with broadcast productions as well as off-site/on-site field video productions




Deliver the content development process (pitch, script, produce, edit and publish) video projects with a high degree of autonomy


Support the execution of our production content strategy across match-days, collaborating with content leadership to identify and crafting responsive content featuring the top storylines, stars and highlights
Support on-camera talent and assist in developing emerging on-camera personalities
Provide editorial guidance and exercise strong editorial judgement during the production process for all videos, including potentially sensitive material
Optimize video content for all social platforms and distribution channels while managing multi-media deliverables across various internal and external groups
Coordinate publishing and programming of content with partners and other members of the MLS Productions and Digital team to ensure maximum reach and engagement
Additional responsibilities as assigned




Qualifications




Bachelor Degree
3+ years of experience in video editing and creating compelling and engaging digital video content in the sports/news/new-media content industry
Hands-on production experience with production companies, managing series development, idea generation and implementing production plans
Hands-on studio production (physical) experience required
Experience with and knowledge of leading and emerging social media platforms


Required Skills

Outstanding video editor skills, with expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Suite
Proven ability to generate new ideas and translate them into high-quality, engaging content through creativity and powerful storytelling
Ability to be proactive, with experience in prioritizing multiple projects and situations as they arise in a dynamic, fast paced organization
Exhibits sound judgement throughoutthe content process to ensure content is aligned with the League brand and values
First-rate team player, with culture and team building abilities
Strong organizational and communication skills (i.e. budgeting time and prioritizing workload, accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks)
Demonstrated passion for soccer and deep knowledge of Major League Soccer, its clubs and players - intimately connected with the soccer community
High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including match nights, evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google & Smartsheet applications
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision


Preferred Skills

Experience in studio production (physical or virtual) environments a plus
Experience in and a working knowledge of television/video production workflows
Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency) a plus


Total Rewards
Starting Base Salary: $55,000 – $65,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
