Position Summary
The Senior Coordinator, Social Responsibility will support the fulfillment of MLS WORKS initiatives and programs, associated with League corporate partners in the U.S. and Canada, that align with key social issues, raise visibility of the League, its clubs and players and help drive value to the enterprise. This position will support alignment with various cross functional teams to ensure delivery of current contractual assets, integrated marketing campaigns and social impact programs, while supporting related renewal and new business conversations. The ideal candidate will have strong executional skills, the ability to think creatively, work collaboratively across the organization, provide innovative solutions and have experience with digital, experiential and cause related programs.
Primary Responsibilities
· Support fulfillment of MLS WORKS strategic partnerships associated with League corporate
partners, including but not limited to program concepting, execution, event budgets, hospitality
and recaps; ensure program elements are met and objectives of MLS and any associated
corporate partners remain aligned
· Support fulfilment of marketing and promotional elements around national programs,
campaigns and events including the following marketing channels; digital/social, broadcast, in-
stadium communication and print deliverables. Support development and integration of social
media content as a key facet of all marketing and promotional planning
· Monitor and report on programming KPIS against benchmarks
· In conjunction with Partnership Marketing & Business Alliance teams, support the integration of
CSR into the development of new business and/or renewal opportunities including program i
ideation and the development of partner presentations on an ongoing basis
· Support the development and execution of CSR initiatives as part of the League’s partnership
with Liga MX, including but not limited to management of program elements, marketing and
promotion for CSR events around Leagues Cup and Campeones Cup
· Coordinate club relationships for specific partner activation needs
· Support the creation of program toolkits (web banners, LEDs, PA/videoboard, twitter skins, etc.)
and distribution of assets (broadcast, in-stadium and digital/social channels)
· Collaborate across departments to ensure MLS WORKS messaging/branding is accurate and
appropriately reflected across platforms
· Support other MLS WORKS projects, as requested
· Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree
· 3-5+ years of integrated marketing, sports marketing, partnership marketing and/or social
responsibility experience
Required Skills
· Must be a team player, have a passion for social responsibility, be self-motivated and results
driven, and able to own projects from conception through execution.
· Experience in planning and execution of activations and programs around large-scale
partnerships programs
· Creative strategist with the ability to provide solutions that address client needs
· Strong understanding of sports and entertainment sponsorships, including promotions, events,
media, and contracts
· Understanding of brand awareness
· Ability to work well across departments
· Knowledge of social media and basic website function/navigation
· Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
· High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and
compliance
· Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and
verbally
· Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
· Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
· Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
· Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Skills
· Sports experience
· Basic knowledge of soccer governing bodies – U.S. Soccer Federation, FIFA, CONCACAF, MLS
· Knowledge of Spanish Language (business proficiency)
