RESPONSIBLE TO | Dash Director of High Performance SUPERVISES | N/A STATUS | Full-Time COMPANY BACKGROUND The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park.   The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.   PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Houston Dash seeks an individual to fill the role of Sports Dietician. This position requires the expertise of a registered nutritionist to provide comprehensive nutrition solutions for the Club’s players aiming to optimize their performance. This position will work closely with the Soccer Operations team, specifically the High Performance and Medical departments.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports nutrition to work in tandem with team/individual performance goals. The successful candidate must be both successful and comfortable working in a small, dynamic environment and encouraging innovative ideas in the area of nutrition. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth assessments of athletes' dietary needs, performance objectives, and health history.Develop and implement personalized nutrition plans, integrating culinary expertise for diverse and flavorful meals. Collaborate with High Performance and Medical department to create balanced and nutrient-dense menus tailored to the dietary requirements of athletes. Design and prepare meals that meet specific nutritional goals, considering taste preferences and dietary restrictions. Oversee the preparation and presentation of meals team Chef provides, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to nutritional guidelines. Collaborate with and manage food service vendors to supply food, as required. Conduct educational sessions on the principles of nutrition and the role of culinary choices in optimizing performance. Organize cooking workshops to empower athletes and clients with practical skills for preparing nutritious meals. Work closely with the high performance team, coaches, and operations staff to integrate nutrition into comprehensive performance plans including collaboration with hotels for away games. Collaborate on the development of integrated training and nutrition programs.Adjust meal plans and recipes based on individual progress, preferences, and evolving goals. Other duties as assigned.  QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field – required. Master’s degree – preferred. Proven experience in nutrition and meal preparation for athletes or high-performance individuals – required.  Experience leading and developing Nutrition departments – required. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential and state licensure – preferred. Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) – strongly preferred.   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES Able to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends, and travel to all away matches. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of sports nutrition, dietary supplements, and the ability to translate nutritional science into practical culinary solutions. Maintains Organizational Core Competencies.   ORGANIZATIONAL CORE COMPETENCIES Accountable – Holds themselves (and when appropriate others) accountable for achieving goals and objectives.
