ROLE DESCRIPTION

1. Job Title - Sport and Education PractitionerSalary - £23,000 per annumHours of Work - You will be expected to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, excluding lunch breaks. The role may include evening and weekendwork as and when required.Location - Lammack Primary School, Lammack Road, Blackburn, BB1 8LHResponsible To - Head of Primary Education/Deputy Head of Primary Education Daily line management from: Head of Primary Education/LammackPE Coordinator.Contractual Status - PermanentClosing Date - 12 noon Friday 29th December 2023Interview Date - w/c 2nd January 2024 or as soon as suitable applications are received.
2. Overall purpose of the Job - To deliver high-quality school sport and Physical Education within Lammack Primary School. Whilst delivering for Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, you will support individuals to develop their abilities to their potential and enjoy physical activity – both in curriculum time and as extra-curricular opportunities, which will encourage them to sustain activity levels. You will also promote positive healthy lifestyle choices and deliver educational messages through the medium of sport. The postholder will have a responsibility to support teachers to help grow their confidence and enhance the quality and of PE in schools, sustainably.
The postholder will deliver against KPI’s from the Premier League Primary Stars programme and the EFL Trust Joy of Moving initiatives.
The role requires an individual with significant experience of working in a school setting and a good knowledge of the type of young people targeted.
3. Duties and Responsibilities
To be responsible for the following:To operate supportive quality assurance and performance management systems to ensure the service is of the highest quality possible.To act as a role model with strong communication and influence.To further develop positive relationships with young people, parents / families, school personnel, and local community organisations.
To develop insight through robust monitoring, evaluation and assessment, and modify approach accordingly.
Planning and delivering high quality school sport and physical education covering a range of skills and techniques.Developing a progressive scheme of work for all year groups within Lammack Primary School.Improving children’s experience of physical activity, sport and physical education through the development and management of engaging and enriching programmes, competition and interventions.To be a member of the team and contribute to the wider development of the school provision for children.Sustaining and further developing the school in terms of its impact on child and staff development.Ensuring quality assurance procedures are followed and implemented for all participating in school programmes during academic year.Working to prepare pupils for a range of events and competitions.Oversee, report and then resolve any issues within school and report to the Head of School Education.Monitor and report on activities using Salesforce and provide relevant information to project coordinator.To contribute meeting departmental targets and service standards and outcomes of the local sport plan.Attend meetings as agreed with your Line Manager.Use an online file sharing system to record all coaching sessions delivered.Link, where possible, school sessions to local community activities and clubs creating pathways for further development.Contributing to the excellence of teaching and learning at the school, utilising school policies and meeting school standards.Contributing to the quality assurance within the curriculum area.Participating in continuous professional development activities in enhance knowledge and understanding.

To at all times represent Blackburn Rovers Football Club, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and Lammack Primary School in a professional manner regarding to dress, presentation, personal hygiene, attitude, conduct and professionalism.
