Role description

Purpose: The Talent Management & Development Pathways department at City Football Group is recruiting a Southern Youth Scouting Manager. Bringing an extensive and in-depth knowledge of the youth football market within the UK to support the team’s long-term strategy of enabling talent to succeed.

This vacancy creates the opportunity for the right candidate to become part of a successful, high performing team and to assist in the implementation and long term delivery of our talent strategies across City Football Group’s global network of clubs.

A highly organised and engaging individual who will manage and coordinate the delivery of that strategy in the designated region and lead a team of experienced Talent ID scouts to support the objectives set by the Business.

Role specific accountabilities:

Strategic responsibility to manage and develop youth talent ID coverage and scouting processes in the UK Southern region for U13-U18 age groups.

Responsibility for the planning and co-ordination of all UK South talent ID operations for all U13-U18 age group scouting, working in collaboration with the wider UK scouting team and MCFC Junior academy to ensure the department is working effectively with well-structured planning and management

To assess U13-U18 players identified by our UK Southern scouting team in order to cross-check, filter and recommend players to UK National scouting leads and when requested, to support and assist the scouting for the CFG network of Clubs.

To be accountable for the management and coordination of all target data for the Southern region, ensuring validity, completeness and accuracy, governing the safety and security of the data and it’s transfer.

To ensure the successful development of a collaborative partnership between MCFC Junior Academy and the Southern scouting structure, ensuring effective communication, compliant data sharing and continued collaboration between the two structures.

Essential
Level 2 Talent ID Certificate
Previous employment within relevant youth scouting markets with a minimum of 2 years experience
Flexible approach to working hours
Ability to support other departments
Passionate about youth recruitment & talent identification
Drive and discipline to learn and develop new skills
Ability to work in an agile manner suited to the innovative and fast paced nature of the football industry.
Excellent communication skills

Desirable
Working towards Level 3/4 Talent ID qualification
PowerPoint and Excel efficient and skills in video editing
Experience of working and delivering in a sporting environment
Relationships with Agents and an extensive contacts base within relevant markets
Previous management experience – anticipating problems and offering effective solutions
Support the work of other departments within CFG as directed
