Through both digital and live experiences, the Sounders FC Marketing Department curates club, fan, and cultural stories to build meaningful connections and serve as leaders invested in the progress of our Seattle community. As part of the Marketing Department, the Digital & Content Team connects the club to its fans in Seattle and beyond through our social media platforms, the club website, written articles, and the Sounders FC app. As the Social Media Producer, you will help identify potential content and storylines as well as execute how those ideas come to life on all our owned digital channels, with the goal of deepening relationships with existing fans and reaching new ones. Across multiple mediums and platforms, you will write, publish, post, and create content for the team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.
Execute day-to-day social media initiatives by developing and posting content on the club’s primary social channels, including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and others
Working with the Senior Manager, Social Media and Manager, Digital Media (website lead), assist with website updates, graphic updates and posting of articles on www.SoundersFC.com
Actively participate in the editorial and content creation and planning process by identifying interesting storylines and opportunities
Explore best-in-class ways to bring storytelling opportunities to life on our website and social platforms through smart, authentic, and written storytelling
Develop innovative social programs in coordination with Marketing, Social Impact, and Corporate Partnership Departments that strengthen the club’s brand
Monitor and engage communication with fans across all social media platforms in real time
Provide real-time coverage of live team events and functions across social and web
Manage and maintain the monitoring and analytics systems to track social media engagement and results
Demonstrate and use best judgment to build content consistent with the team and brand message, but also with an eye to expand and engage the Sounders audience
Create social media reports to help guide strategic content approaches and report on effectiveness of campaigns
Maintain a deep understanding of website experiences and identify unique opportunities to leverage content, creative, and technology that may drive or influence execution
Work on Sounders Matchdays, with shared responsibilities of social media, web, and matchday contributors
Attend and cover Sounders FC events, community initiatives, and other team events, with the goal to produce compelling content that catches fans’ attention
Have a strong handle of fan sentiment across our social platforms at any given moment
Use the club’s tone in all digital touchpoints, while elevating and growing Sounders FC brand
Support the club’s mission: Create Moments, Enrich Lives and Unify Through Soccer, as well as the Sounders FC Values of Ambition, Innovation, and Collaboration in all interactions with teammates, partners, vendors, and fans
QUALIFICATIONSExperience, Knowledge, Skill and/or Ability
2+ years’ experience in Digital Media for a fast-paced sports or entertainment organization
Strong familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and emerging social platforms
Proven track record of leveraging social and digital media to successfully drive organizational objectives
Proficiency and experience with creating graphics using Adobe Creative Suite
Thinks creatively and develops innovative digital strategies to increase page views and engagement
Ability to craft time-sensitive digital and social content as needed
Self-starter who works well in a team environment. Must be able to collaborate with other departments
Outstanding copy writing and editing skills with experience of writing on a deadline
Quick learner who can learn and adapt new organizational processes
Attention to detail
Passionate about working in soccer and sports
Understands, or can quickly learn, the club’s history, the North American soccer scene, and MLS
Fluency in Spanish is a plus
Photography skills is a plus

Project Management tools (Wrike, Asana, etc)
Social Media monitoring and analytical tools
This is a hybrid position working primarily from home and expected to work every Sounders FC matches at Lumen Field as well as provide coverage for other events and meetings as needed.
Employee must be available to work a flexible schedule to accommodate changing business demands including nights and weekends as needed.
Employee must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.
Must be fully vaccinated at the time of hire and follow all club and league COVID-19 protocols.
