As a Social Media Manager, you will be a key player in creating and inspiring compelling content across Man City’s social media channels, collaborating to achieve success within an inclusive and creative environment.

Based within the Media team in Manchester, you will manage a team of social media producers and work across departments to grow and engage the City fanbase. This position offers the opportunity to create content that reaches and entertains millions of fans across the globe. The role is primarily management and strategy focused, although there will be a requirement to create and publish content. International travel and match attendance will be an occasional requirement.

Such a pivotal role requires a collaborative candidate, who will need to manage stakeholders within the department, the business and beyond. Strong written and verbal communication are critical elements of the job.

Role specific accountabilities:

1-Ensure Man City’s social media output is regarded as best in class in world sport.

2-Manage the social media team and take responsibility for short, medium and long term planning across channels.

3-Drive performance in order to meet departmental KPIs, both in terms of content metrics and revenue generation.

4-Track content analytics to drive performance and identify trends

5-Work with the Media leadership team to achieve strategic goals. Also able to work autonomously.

Strong knowledge of a range of social media platforms and expertise using them
Management experience
Brand and commercial awareness
Editorial judgement
Community management knowledge
Media law knowledge
Resilience, experience of working in a high pressure publishing environment
Track record of creativity
Passionate about sport
Collaborative

Desirable:

Video editing- Intermediate Skill Level
Excel- Intermediate Skill Level
Budget experience
