Chicago Fire Football Club is a Major League Soccer team that was founded in 1997 and is Chicago’s ambassador to the global sport of soccer. The Club recently returned to Soldier Field as well as opened a new 50,000 square foot office in the heart of the city. With tremendous growth and expansion, the Club is laying the foundation for an audacious and ambitious vision that will transform the brand and the success of the Club in the coming years. The 2022 Chicago Fire Summer Internship Program is designed to provide outstanding individuals interested in a career in sports with the opportunity to experience the inner workings of a professional sports team firsthand.
Running from May – August (with flexibility based on schedule), this paid program provides individuals with the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that contribute to the organization's success while developing their personal and business acumen. SUMMARY: The Chicago Fire Football Club is looking for a current or recent college graduate with a passion for all things creative content to join the team as a Social Media Content intern. This individual will work closely with other members of the Content Creative Team to assist with a variety of digital and social media tasks. This is a paid role up to 30 hours/week from May 23 through August 5, 2022. RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work with content team to develop and execute social media content for Chicago Fire FC Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Tiktok
Assist with in-game content capture and creation
Assist in day-to-day content creation, copy writing, and posting
Assist with the Club’s web and app content management systems; with tasks including updating the website and app with relevant information, posting press releases, and copy writing
Contribute to campaign ideation, planning, and execution for marketing, sales, and various other departments
Help to track, analyze, and monitor social media analytics
Track emerging social media trends and develop/execute content ideas surrounding them
Capture photos and videos at Chicago Fire FC matches, training sessions, events, etc.
Fully Vaccinated for COVID-19
Experience in social media content creation for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Tiktok
Exceptional writing skills as demonstrated through past work experience or personal creative projects.
Demonstrated ability to produce compelling written copy for various disciplines, including social media, website, app, graphics, and email marketing.
Proven ability to anticipate public reaction and use discretion when posting on social media.
Experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro preferred
Basic understanding and grasp of photography and videography fundamentals
Well-organized with ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to uncover relevant and engaging story ideas related to team and organizational performance.
Familiarity with web publishing concepts, including building and updating web pages and posting content (text, images, videos) within a content management system preferred
Must be a current college student or recent graduate
Great communicator, and able to work with multiple stakeholders and personalities
