Remuneration + benefits: £9.00 per hour plus holiday pay

Location: Various Locations Across Burnley and Pendle.

Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC) is the award-winning, official charity of Burnley Football Club.



We work hard every day to deliver our mission to inspire, support and deliver change to communities across Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, the Ribble Valley and West Yorkshire.



We work with over 70 local, regional and national partners in four key areas: Football Development, Education and Employability, Community Welfare and Inclusion and Community Facilities. Our highly skilled, dynamic and passionate team now deliver over 50 community projects that touch the lives of a huge spectrum of people in and around Burnley. From children and young people right through to senior citizens.



Day-by-day the outreach of our work is growing and along with our brand-new state of the art leisure facility – Leisure Box, Whitehough Outdoor Activity Centre and UCFB at Turf Moor; truly exciting things are happening at Burnley FC in the Community.

We are now looking to recruit to the role of Youth Worker to deliver on our projects across Burnley and Pendle.

The successful applicant will hold a relevant professional qualification in Youth Work and will have experience of coaching young people. In this role you will use the influence of sport to deliver positive change in the lives of under- represented or vulnerable groups and individuals within the local community.

Reporting to Kicks Coordinator / Youth Services Manager, the Youth Worker will be expected to:



To engage, inspire and empower young people to reach their full potential.
To deliver high-quality sessions on existing projects (Premier League Kicks and Disability Sport) as well as our new Youth Services offer across Burnley and Pendle that engage, enthuse and progress young people.
To support the development and delivery of high-quality, impactful sport and youth engagement sessions in areas of high need across Burnley and Pendle and the wider East Lancashire area.
Work with individuals and/or groups from a range of diverse backgrounds.
To be able to work flexible and unsociable hours where the role of the job requires.
To work towards agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Comply with all Club policies.
To understand and implement the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
Promote the Burnley Football Club brand and ethos in a professional, strong and positive manner.
A commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace and a willingness to undertake all relevant equality and diversity training.


An ideal candidate will have;

Essential:

Relevant professional qualifications in Youth Work.
Experience of coaching young people.
An understanding and passion for improving opportunities for disadvantaged people and under- represented groups or individuals in our communities.
An understanding of safeguarding procedures.
An understanding of young people’s risks, challenges and needs.


Desirable:

A positive attitude towards professional development and their own learning.
A passion for the community and making a difference.
Applicants will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work evenings, weekends and match days as required.
