Role description

Come and be a part of the Whitehough Outdoor Centre experience. We are currently recruiting a team of Centre Assistants to help support the running of the centre, providing outdoor adventures for young people and community groups in the heart of the Pendle countryside.

The new Centre Assistants will provide excellent customer service whilst working in a highly motivated team. Their responsibilities will include ensuring all areas are kept clean and presentable, setting up rooms for a variety of events and to prepare and maintain accommodation and communal areas.

We are seeking individuals who are hard-working, dedicated and have a willingness to learn. Experience in a similar role is not essential.

Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC) is the award-winning, official charity of Burnley Football Club.

We work hard every day to deliver our mission to inspire, support and deliver change to communities across Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, the Ribble Valley and West Yorkshire.

We work with over 70 local, regional and national partners in five key areas: Sport, Education, Health, Social Inclusion and Community Facilities. Our highly skilled, dynamic and passionate team now deliver over 50 community projects that touch the lives of a huge spectrum of people in and around Burnley. From children and young people right through to senior citizens.

Day-by-day the outreach of our work is growing and along with our brand-new state of the art leisure facility – Leisure Box, Whitehough Outdoor Activity Centre and UCFB at Turf Moor; truly exciting things are happening at Burnley FC in the Community.

The Centre Assistant will be expected to:

General office duties including filing, photocopying materials, data inputting, answering the phone, dealing with booking enquiries.
Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing throughout the facility.
Ensure laundry is clean and well stocked.
Setting up rooms for a variety of events (this will include moving chairs and tables).
Assisting with washing up.
Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
Notify your line manager(s) of any damages, deficits and disturbances throughout the facility.
Liaise with your line manager on stocking levels of all consumables and coordinate replacing products where appropriate.
Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
Housekeeping – preparing and maintaining accommodation and communal arears providing a first-class service and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Ensure all areas are kept clean and presentable, preparing guest accommodation for their arrival.

Food hygiene certificate.
Up to date first aid certificate.
Previous experience of working in hospitality.
Knowledge of food hygiene practices.
