Job Description The position will include the following responsibilities: To establish a close working relationship with the Head of Coaching, Head of Academy and Lead Phase Coach To plan, create and evaluate coaching sessions as scheduled in the weekly plan To plan and deliver training sessions that prioritise an individual player development focus Provide regular feedback on the progress of individual players and the group to the relevant staff Provide impactful feedback to players to support progression Ensure the Performance Management Application (PMA) is completed and up to date Recognise potential complaint situations and make effective steps to avoid and/or resolve these situations Work as part of a positive coaching team, which creates an outstanding learning environment for the Club’s young players Sunderland AFC is looking to add to their team of academy coaches to work with players in their Schoolboy Programme providing a high quality of coaching delivery and game management. Working on an ‘as and when required’ basis with the ability to work flexibly during evenings and weekends successful candidates must have a UEFA B Licence and FA Youth Award. Sessional coaches will assist with the individual, group and team planning for the training and games programme within the Foundation Phase and/or Youth Phase. Confidentiality and excellent communications are essential with the coach expected to provide quality feedback to the academy players and colleagues as required. Previous experience working within football or similar disciplined sport would be an advantage, along with the expectation that you ensure your qualifications and CPD are maintained as required for the role.
