The aim of the DFB Academy is to further develop German football and to establish it again among the world's best - as a campus for innovation, implementation engine for our national teams, network and exchange platform and joint competence center. With a competent team, optimal infrastructure, modern technologies and science, we develop our players, trainers and experts.

The Intelligence Center in the DFB Academy provides decision-makers, trainers and experts in top German football with objective and evidence-based knowledge for their work in order to support them in making practical decisions. In order to achieve this, the Intelligence Center works closely with its target groups on their issues and addresses them in individual projects with top international institutions from football, sport, business and science. In its projects, the Intelligence Center combines knowledge from its three sub-areas: Science, Data Science & Machine Learning and the TechLab. We are looking for full-time positions as soon as possible
a senior performance analyst
in the Performance, Technology & Innovation department

The role
As Senior Performance Analyst you are the central contact person and driver for the definition, implementation and presentation of (research) projects based on questions from football practice. To do this, you are in direct contact with experts from football, sport, business and science and proactively accompany them along the Intelligence Center process - from the receipt of questions to specific project planning and individual data analysis to the presentation of results. As part of this support, you coordinate the exchange in the Intelligence Center and keep all team members up to date via central information channels and project management tools, which we jointly develop and continuously optimize.
First contact person for answering practice-relevant questions along the Intelligence Center process in various project teams, including through
Concretization and transfer of the practical questions into (scientifically) analyzable key questions
Creation of project outlines and targeted analysis plans
Selection and involvement of (internal and external) experts and partners
Project management and implementation with standardized interim reports
Communication of results and preparation of decision templates
Support of the cooperation and further development of the Intelligence Center, among other things through
Support with project prioritization and workload planning
Further development of content and operational maintenance of project management tools
Coordination of external inquiries to the Intelligence Center
Coordination and support of IT projects / interfaces of the intelligence center
Further development of project quality standards
Further development of the digital presence of the DFB Academy at
Coordination and assumption of selected own research tasks in the Intelligence Center, among other things
(statistical) analyzes and data preparation
Literature research and synthesis
Evaluation implementation and advice
Benchmark analyzes and trend reports
Proactive, responsible team player with a solution- and result-oriented way of working and having fun implementing new projects in a structured manner
Above-average university degree (master's / diploma / magisterial degree); Doctorate and focus on sports content / science is an advantage (e.g. sports science, sports technology, sports psychology)
Extensive experience in application-oriented scientific work and innovation management (e.g. research projects / facilities, innovation labs)
Secure user knowledge of the MS Office package (especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word) and ideally experience with survey / evaluation tools (e.g. Microsoft Forms / Qualtrics) and / or project management tools (e.g. Trello)
Experience in handling data in cloud ecosystems as well as experience in data preparation, modeling, analysis and visualization
In-depth knowledge of project management and the creation of research designs
Strong communication skills and enjoyment of working in a team with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, areas of expertise and experience
Very good written and spoken German and English
Efficient time management in the field of tension between short-term tasks and long-term goals
Ability to structure questions and reduce complexity, as well as to switch between the level of detail and a bird's eye view
High affinity for football and excellent football knowledge; Practical experience as a player / trainer / expert is an advantage
