Position Purpose
The Senior Manager, Social Media, leads the USL Social Media department. Developing and executing the organization social media strategy, the Senior Manager, Social Media oversees management of the social channels, creation of social content, platform partnerships, and ecosystem-wide social media support. This position plays a vital role in the overall strategic marketing operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for and understanding of soccer culture in North America.

Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Analyze, develop, implement, and lead digital marketing and social media campaigns across various platforms and social communities (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, etc.).
Ideate, create, and post content across the full array of USL social channels.
Manage USL HQ Social Media Department team members.
Monitor social engagement and community sentiment through active listening across multiple social platforms.
Identify best practices across multiple, related environments and industries, including paid or promoted social media.
Work with USL member clubs on contests, sweepstakes, and broad USL Social Media initiatives.
Establish and manage strong relationships with the social platforms to unlock collaboration opportunities, learn best practices, and fast-track crisis elevation (e.g., resolving a hacked account).
Work cross-departmentally to support broad initiatives through social media, including partner activations, club servicing, and communications opportunities.
Analyze social media data to measure campaign effectiveness, uncover actionable insights, and identify areas of opportunity.
Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key influencers.
Identify opportunities, trends, and features within the social media space. Stay abreast of consumer insights, trends, and social media and global marketing strategies to produce successful and integrated campaigns.
Establish, track, and assure adherence to budgets, launch schedules, campaign, and marketing objectives.
Other duties as assigned.


5+ years of professional work experience in social media and/or digital content.
Experience with social media management tools such as Tweetdeck, Facebook Business Manager, Hootsuite, etc.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop.
Experience managing successful social media and content campaigns.
Ability to work well within tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, executives, member clubs, and external partners.
Effectively communicate information and ideas in written, visual, and verbal formats, and build and maintain relationships.
Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work as business needs require which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel if / when necessary.
Must have U.S. work authorization.
