Role description
Overview
The Sr Manager, FPA is a key member of the team managing financial planning and analysis for the Leagues Cup Property. The individualshould act as the Finance Dept liaison for Leagues Cup and various departments within SUM for projection, planning, budgeting and other purposes. The role should balance being a good business partner for the property and departments ensuring sound fiscal process and discipline throughout the organization.
Leagues Cup Overview
In September 2021, LIGA MX and Major Leagues Soccer announced the expansion of Leagues Cup in 2023 to an annual 4-week tournament featuring all LIGA MX and MLS clubs. Leagues Cup is an official Concacaf competition, and the top three finishers receive spots in the Concacaf Champions League, with the winner advancing directly to the round of 16. Leagues Cup is the first and only officially sanctioned multi-country club competition in the world, which represents an extraordinary opportunity to build one of the most unique and exciting club tournaments in the world within the Concacaf ecosystem while accelerating the growth of soccer in the USA.
Responsibilities
Support and help lead the annual budgeting process.
Manage settlement process with clubs, LigaMX and other partners for 77-game annual tournament
Help manage annual and long-range projections.
Analyze potential new business opportunities for viability and review contracts to determine financial impact.
Develop and coordinate various financial and accounting reports and projects. Gain deep understanding of department roles and responsibilities and ensure responsible fiscal management and effective spending.
Evaluate the impact of spending on a project basis across departments, ensuring proper fiscal management and effective spending across multiple stakeholders.
Work closely with accounting team to support the monthly close process. Ensure the smooth flow of information between FPA department and accounting department within Finance for accrual purposes, ensuring spending is matching plans, etc.
Be a strong business and financial resource for executive leadership team
Assist in determining entity value

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree; MBA a plus
8+ years of experience in the Accounting or Finance field
Extensive experience in FP&A.
Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills.
High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance.
Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast paced, team environment and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally.
Role will require interaction with all staff levels, including C suite executives. A professional demeanor, the ability to negotiate sensitive matters and the ability to work collaboratively are a must.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Total Rewards
Starting Base Salary $100,000 - $125,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
