Role description

Toronto FC is seeking a Senior Manager of Analytics to drive an evidence-based approach across Team Operations. This individual will be critical member of the club's Front Office, tasked with implementing a club-wide data strategy. Their work will focus on facilitating evidence-based approaches across player recruitment, opposition analysis, and roster budget management.
The Role:
Implementation of club-wide team and player performance metrics that align with club playing philosophy.
Oversee the effective warehousing of performance data and surfacing of insights, via both automated processes and ad-hoc analysis.
Participate in the ongoing research and development of novel methods of analysis in soccer.
Coordinate with MLSE stakeholders on innovation projects and initiatives.


Qualifications


Requirements:
A strong grasp of soccer tactics and familiarity with the sports industry.
Proficiency working in large data sets with Python and SQL.
Thrives in a fast-paced setting; can handle multiple priorities at the same time.
Can work flexible and varying schedules, including extended travel and late hours.
Experience in a high-performance sporting environment.
Familiarity of the MLS Roster Rules and Regulations.
Experience working with high-fidelity player-tracking data.
Experience with version control software such as Git.
Familiarity with data visualization best practices.
Experience with performance analysis software such as Sportscode.
