Aston Villa Football Club are looking to appoint a Senior Sports Scientist to work within its Boy’s Academy Sport Science and Medical Department. The successful applicant will be an integral part of a progressive Sport Science team and will help to deliver the sport science provision across all ages within the Boy’s Academy, with a primary focus on one of our Professional Development Phase squads, the U18’s squad.
This role will be crucial in achieving the Academy Sport Science and Medical Department’s vision of optimising player availability and performance through an elite evidence-based sports science provision. The role will work with the Youth Development age-groups, with a specific focus on the U18 squad and will be instrumental in applying a comprehensive scientific knowledge base in a practical setting.
This is a full-time role, based at Bodymoor Heath Training Ground, which will require a flexible approach to work including evenings, weekends and during public holidays.
The successful candidate will need to be highly motivated and passionate about working with and development young athletes. To be considered for this role you will need to have a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science (or equivalent) and demonstrable experience of working with elite professional athletes is essential. Post-graduate study, Strength and Conditioning accreditation with some mentoring experience would be advantageous.
