ROLE DESCRIPTION

An excitng job opportunity has arisen at York City Football Club for several Volunteer First Team
Regional Scouts and 5x Volunteer remote Video Scouts. In both roles, you will gain experience and be
valued as an integral part of the First Team Recruitment team.
 The Volunteer First Team Regional Scouts will be responsible for providing scout coverage in
their locality for 2 games per week (with some live/video flexibility) and idenƟfying potenƟal
players to recruit as players for York City Football Club’s first team.
 The Volunteer Video Scouts will be responsible for analysing 2x games on video per week to
idenƟfy players to recruit as players for York City Football Club’s first team.
Main ResponsibiliƟes:
 To Work as an integral member of the scouƟng network in idenƟfying players for the club
who meet the criteria and potenƟal to represent York City FC
 To maintain knowledge of the standard of players required to improve the playing squads,
maintain accurate and detailed reports of all matches aƩended and ensure players are
targeted on specific databases.
 To cover 2 matches per week as directed by and agreed with by the Head of Recruitment,
Head of Recruitment Analysis & ScouƟng OrganisaƟon, and the Chief Scout.
 To aƩend monthly scout meeƟngs and in-service as required by the club and to adhere to all
club guidelines.
 To always promote a professional image of the club.
Technical Skills & Experience we are looking for:
 Experience or training in scouƟng.
 ObservaƟon skills.
 Report wriƟng skills.
 Strategic planning, organising and co-ordinaƟng skills.
