Schools Manager
Wigan Athletic Community Trust is recruiting for a Schools Manager to lead on the implementation of the schools strategy and manage and develop innovative programmes to support pupils, teachers and schools in the community.To be part of the Senior Management Team and support the Head of Community and other Senior Managers across the organisation.
You will:
• Be accountable for all projects and activities linked to Schools within the Community Trust strategy.
• Work with the Head of Community to identity new funding opportunities and partnerships linked to schools.
• Manage relationships with a range of partners that the Community Trust has professional partnerships with including Wigan Council, The PLCF, The FA, PartnerSchools, EFL Trust and School Games Organisers.
• Manage the performance of a team, addressing development needs and tackling any poor performance effectively.
• Lead on monitoring and evaluation processes and implementation of the Community Trust’s Outcome Framework across the Schools section of the Community Trust.
• Manage the internal quality assurance process across all of the Community Trust’s schools provision.
• As part of the Senior Management Team help to create a culture and environment of continuous improvement across the organisation.
• Represent the Community Trust at relevant stakeholder meetings at both a local and national level.
The successful candidate will:
• Educated to a degree standard in a community or sports development related subject.
• A proven track record of developing and delivering innovative and effective education projects within primary and secondary schools linked to national partners such as the Premier League, EFL Trust and the PFA.
• Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships with schools and liaising with school staff at all levels.
• Experience within a leadership role and of helping to establish a positive culture amongst staff members.
• Proven track record of managing diverse teams including project delivery staff.
• An excellent understanding of Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s vision, strategy and objectives.
• Good knowledge of the current Primary School PE Curriculum and OFTSED guidelines.
• Good knowledge of the National projects such as Premier League Primary Stars and PL Inspires programmes.
• The ability and energy to inspire and motivate colleagues of all levels to enable the organisation to achieve its objectives.
• The ability to write clear, concise funding applications and project reports.
• The ability to create and understand project budgets and management accounts.
• Flexible to meet the needs of the business.

Job Purpose

• Work with the Media Officer to promote the work of the Community Trust in schools through Wigan Athletic’s media platforms and to the wider community.
• Manage the performance of a team, addressing development needs and tackling any poor performance effectively.
• Lead on monitoring and evaluation processes and implementation of the Community Trust’s OutcomeFramework across the Schools section of the Community Trust.
• Manage the internal quality assurance process across all of the Community Trust’s schools provision.
• As part of the Senior Management Team help to create a culture and environment of continuous improvement across the organisation.
• Represent the Community Trust at relevant stakeholder meetings at both a local and national level.
• To be a flexible member of the Wigan Athletic Community Trust team and when requested assist in the delivery of other projects and activities including evenings and weekends.
Health and Safety.

• Comply with all company policies and statutory regulations relating to health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your work place, and assist if required with the amending of risk assessments periodically.
• Have a full knowledge of procedures for evacuation with regard to fire.
• Identify and report maintenance requirements or hazards within the workplace and encourage any workforce to do the same to avoid injury.
