As aSafety and Security Manager, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring the safety and security of all individuals on match day and non-match days across the Etihad Campus with primary responsibility for the City Football Academy (CFA).

The role holder will work as part of an operational team and will ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.

Role specific accountabilities:


Act as the principal Safety Officer for the City Football Academy Stadium and where required act as the Safety Officer and/or Deputy Safety Officer for other events across the campus including the Etihad Stadium.


Security risk management in accordance with policies and regulations to mitigate any issues which may potentially affect the club and its assets, including the players.


Ensure planning of safety and security day-to-day events and match-day operations are executed to the highest standard and in line with all relevant Company policies and regulations.


Assume responsibility and control for spectator safety and security plans accordingly inadvance of each matchday working closely with the Senior Safety and Security Manager.


Manage the safety and security of all individuals during match day operations, ensuring all legal and compliance obligations are adhered to


Assist in managing safety and security operations including resource planning, welfare, setting expectations and managing performance standards


Assist with event safety resource management for all events, including employees, and casual and agency staff. This includes recruitment, training and deployment of resources to ensure all safety and security operations run smoothly


This role involves working with children and/or vulnerable adults in a Regulated Activity (or in close proximity to children and/or vulnerable adults). This means that the post-holder is required to apply all relevant policies and uphold the Club commitment to safeguarding vulnerable people.

Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:


Experience of managing safety and security event operations in a multi-site environment
Knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation including Safety of Sports Ground legislation and the Green Guide
Qualification in NVQ L4 (or equivalent in Spectator Safety Management) or working towards
Ability to evaluate and advise on potential safety and security risks and identify solutions
Ability to remain calm under pressure and undertake risk management to make informed decisions to manage challenging situations
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Flexible approach to working hours and the ability to work some unsociable hours (including weekends)
Ability to formulate and deliver detailed operational plans

Previous experience working in a sporting environment in a safety and security manager role supporting event operations Experience in planning and delivering safety and security operations Ability to formulate risk assessments.
